I have to send this one to some buddies in various group texts!

 

I consider myself a heavy drinker, and most weeks I'm at about 7 or 8. Tomorrow afternoon I'll have a pint of bourbon with friends, but that happens less than once a month.

 

I laughed way too hard at it.

 

Phone is blowing up with laughter.

 

I used to be able to throw them down but just didn't drink much Monday - Thursday and Sunday's as I didn't like the booze borking my sleep. Then it got to the point where Friday night and Saturday I asked myself why I was getting blitzed and tapered down to no booze over time.

I would say I was a heavy drinker for about 5 years after my father passed away. Then I just stopped. I firmly believe if I kept going my health would be in even worse condition than it already is.

 

Being in the business probably doesn't help your numbers eh?

 

Likely not. I've never drank this much consistently until I moved close to work, where I now walk a lot. Most days I'm dinking 5/6 drinks and try and take a couple of days off each week. I've made a commitment with myself to be part of sober Jan in 2025 so I'm hoping to change what has become a bad habit.

 

Out for an early dinner before the Bomb Cyclone arrives. There used to be posts about sushi. Today’s was very good.

That's how I started cutting back.
Went one month a few years ago, then 3 months last year. December will be a year for me

Hot dang…not even in my college days could I do that. Well, I did one summer for about 3 weeks straight and that was messy

 

That looks delicious. Much better than the pumpkin chili I had with poorly rendered bacon.

 

Sober for a month to start. Just be more conscious about my drinking choices and why I'm leaning it on so much as of late. Over the last 4 years I've become what I consider a heavy drinker to a fault.

 

Do it… I tried dry October as part of my reset. Made it 3 weeks until a day at work set me off.

Was glad I lasted as long as I did and will try again soon. Learned I have a lot of things in my life right now that are… triggering. Dealing with those now head on.

 

Well,,,,um,,,That's good for about 3 days. My kidney doctor hates me.

 

That's my problem. Finding another reason to focusing my energy and time on won't get me to stop. I'm already a functioning alcoholic as far as a doctor is concerned.

I just need to stop using alcohol to cope.

 

We’re further north so rain and wind. Lots of snow in mountains, don’t recommend traveling in mountains. About 78,000 without power so far in the Puget Sound Seattle area. Power is flickering and internet is flaky. The coast is getting hammered.

 

Are either of these available for purchase over the interwebz? I'd love to try that Carolina Shine.

PS - they're both 16oz but one is clearly trying to deceive our friends from Canukistan (16oz = 473ml)
