@TheBullet ...sorry to hear that. So many people around me had water in their homes and/or vehicles. I had to tread some high water in mine during that storm, but fortunately made it. Nice pick on the replacement truck though!

So I have a quick question, most likely I'm doing something wrong. I'm installing the Tarad pro headlights with the harness for the 1794 edition. Everything seems to work fine except the DRL are only on if i manually turn on the headlights, doesn't work on the auto position. What I'm i doing wrong?

Check your parking brake, DRL signal is triggered only after releasing the parking brake what you get when operating the headlights switch manually is the parking lights (LED DRL dimmed mode)

    Installed my new headlights today.

I own a 2017 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro SR5. My headlights originally had the amber DRL.

    Swapped them out with 2018-2019 TRD Sport : part# 81110-0C210 and 81150-0C210

Used a harness made by MR iHacker

    the “1Lowlife” version harness.
This allows for a PNP harness, that is 100%PNP. No running wires to the fuse block, nothing up through the firewall.
Options in the end is a amber DRL, or a amber/LED ring that has both the amber active, and the LED light around the lens.
lastly, its the headlights on, and the Amber, LED are both active.

Replaced the standard amber DRL/turn-sig nal in the new TRD Sport headlamp with a Morimoto LED light, that is Resistor-Free, and does NOT hyperflash.
    https://www.theretrofitsource.com/Morimoto-7440-7443-XB-LED-Bulbs-Resistor-Free
Props to iHacker for linking me to the Morimoto LED.

And being this whole topic is props to @iHacker, thanks for your wisdom, and your harness

How have these bulbs been working for you. Do they hyperflash after being on in the DRL setting for a while? I have a 2017 as well.

I tried vleds but I couldn’t get them work without blowing fuses.

Longest I have run them at any given time was about 2hr's. They stay in DRL settings any time the truck is running and have not started to hyperflash, and have not had any issues with the fuses.

I have a 2014 1794. I have purchased the harness from iHacker and am ready to purchase the 2018 (81150-0C211 & 81110-0C211) TRD Pro headlights. My current operation with the headlights that I have now is the LED strip is on when the truck is running so DRL I assume, with no amber DRL. The LED strip dims when the headlights are turned on. My question is, will the new headlights operate the same way with the dual LED strip on the 2018s while the truck is running with no amber light and dims when the headlights are turned on? I really like the LED DRL without the amber and really do not want to try and troubleshoot if it does not work the same way.

I received my harness less than a week after I paid. Just did the modification today, not for the faint of heart but very straightforward. Can’t wait to drive at night.

    Thank you @iHacker

Just to close the loop on this. I have been running these signals for a few weeks and have not had any issues with them running them for DRL.

I also like how the blinker dims a bit when the parking signal is active. Otherwise they would be too blinding at night.

My harness is in the mail. Picking up my OEM Pro LED headlights from the dealer tomorrow. Hoping the install isn’t too bad.

This is my first tundra after two Tacos. Not at all new to mods or cutting things up when needed, but electrical isn’t really my comfort zone.

I did this upgrade with the 2019 Black LED assemblies, (81150-0C211, 81110-0C211). Aside from some slight body damage I had on right hand side making the fitment a challenge for me, this was not too bad of a project. I got iHacker's harness and it's all great.

I do have an issue that seems to be with the unit itself. When I went to align finally I have noticed that the high beams are different on either side relative to the low beams. By this I mean that the bottom most part of the high beams and low beams on the RH side are the same. So the high beams go higher but has the same bottom. On the LH side however there is a significant separation between the high and low beams bottom alignment. I'm not sure which is more correct.

So the result is that if I line up the low beams right and left, when I switch to high beams the LH is much higher than the RH side. My google-fu has not lead me to any information on if there is alignment of the 2 beams within a single assembly.

Any thoughts? Might need a separate post but thought I'd keep it here first.

Just wanted to comment that I noticed the same thing on my high beams as well. Lows are leveled, but my drivers side is a noticeably taller on the beam. I don’t notice it really at all with normal driving, so I have kinda forgotten about it in the few months I’ve had these installed.

I do recall researching this when I first noticed, and I did find a thread with someone else having the same phenomenon. At this point I just wonder if it was designed this way (whether intentional or not). But I’m not stressing it much, especially as how these high beams are 10x more effective than the old halogens.

As we discussed this with @jwm1986 this is a manufacturer defect and not sure why they didn’t include a dial knob to adjust the high beam as well, probably the adjustment is relative when low beam is adjusted and they aligned it incorrectly from factory.

My recommendation is to ask the dealer or seller for a replacement, also with your original receipt you can get a replacement under warranty at any Toyota dealership.
