I imagine it diverts liquid, but the odor would remain. Spray something that smells nice up there and see if you smell it in the cab.

First thing I focused on..

 

We were unloading snowmobiles and our friend asked if we had to pee.
It was -25deg c and his front shock was frozen up due to moisture in the oil and would not move.
We all took turns pissing on that one poor shock and it warmed it enough to start cycling.
