    Well, that is awesome..
The Union is much stronger up there.

Texas is a right-to-work state, the Local is worthless, they don't do shit except not work and take car allowances..
They bend over when the company makes changes that fuck the employees and say "the company can do what they want".

I haven't contacted them more than 4 times in 38 years.
I went to Union meetings years ago, but they were a joke.

I'm only in the Union on a national level.
I wouldn't have the pay and benefits without them.

My short-term disability is $500 a week up to 6 months.
If it goes longer into long-term disability is a little more, maybe the 80% of base pay (no overtime).

If my issue was workman's compensation claim they would pay more.
But Hartford would also coming to the house check up on me a few times a month and then force me to go to work for light duty that would be fueling tractors for a skeleton crew while our hub gets remodeled to automate it.

I'd rather be at home seeing my own doctors and PT Therapists.
I'm in no hurry to go back.
I can live on $500 a week for a few months...
Only debt I have is the mortgage payment, wife pays the rest of the bills.

I plan to be on Short term disability 6 months of 2025 for my shoulders.
Finish working the rest of 2025.
Then January 2026 get both knees replaced, then retire..

I'd bet you have a lot more perks up there being a Teamster than I do in Texas..
2 or 3 more years and I'm done.
I just need to get my shoulders and knees replaced on company insurance and I'm retiring...:D

Yes, but then it makes a sticky mess, and we don't use it often so just used the bar type... I wasn't sure folks wanted to hear me explain how to properly boil water

...yeah, that's were I drew the line

Yeah my offer was for things like entertainment, poking fun of members and general fuckery to keep the spirits up. If you were closer I would cook you some easy casseroles and drop them off. Maybe some bbq shipments will be in order instead.

    Thank you.
    I do appreciate it.
We aren't much for smoked meats.
    I'm pretty sure I can cook with 1 arm...:D
With the back surgery it was more frozen stuff, not that big a deal.
It's just the wife, me, and the dogs.

The only problem I see is y'all having to put up with more of me since I'll be off work for so long..

I get that too. I have a job now where I did not get any pto when my son was born, but the perks out weighed this significantly. I have basically been part time since he was born with full time benefits. So I am not complaining. That said, I have worked for places that lose their mind on small things and even have family who have been in trouble for not being home on their couch when their boss did a drive by because they were on medical leave... get f'd on that one!

Going to give the stubby a nice polishing

Primary duty will be my camping gun until I can find/build me a 10mm 1911.

So as previously stated I took FMLA this week to take of my wife who had surgery Tuesday.
I did work Monday, I have to work at least one day of a given week to get insurance for the following week.

The plan was to take off Tuesday, Wednesday, see how things went, and maybe Thursday.
Tuesday surgery, she slept all day when we got home.
Wednesday she was up and doing more than she should have, but she was fine.
Thursday comes and I chauffeur her around to do some shopping FOR 6 HOURS.
She is doing well and didn't really need me, but it's the reason I took off was to care for her.
So I should probably go back tomorrow...
NOPE, I'm taking tomorrow as well and planning to put up Xmas lights.

Beer of the evening is Stella Artois....
Funny thing is I still go to bed at 9 since I usually have to get up at 4 to get ready for work..

    Very nice..

    You ain't a kiddin'.
    I had a 3 inch Model 29 for about 6 months.
I usually go to an indoor range and it would certainly attract attention and maybe piss a few people off...:eek2:
It was sweet but I sold it in my caliber consolidation..:D
The only decent pics I have are from the GB auction when I bought it.

    0c548b49-bf33-4d3d-ba58-e6e5a5678f14_46f1ecf0c72a7c00affb4236aa5e40acf0ebc802.jpg

    Then a range pic..
I shot it well with 44sp, but 44mag was a handful.

You need to post that pic in the Live thread and caption it with... "I went to an indoor range today; took a lane next to some dude shootin' suppressed .22; and after I cranked off the first round, dude next to me had smoke comin' from his ears.... WTH is wrong w/people???"

That shit will trigger 3 pages of banter and rage from a few of them  (well, one in particular) :stirthepot:
