I have one like that in my front brake job thread.

But in our defense, my gf took a video of me on the aprilia and got her finger in a good 1/4 of the screen. In a video.

I'd like to get some feedback on my idea for paint scheme ad I'm undecided on a couple of details. Specifically on the front end.

The truck is getting painted flat tan and I'm going for an "armory look". I'm considering Black Rhino's Armory wheels, but not 100% sure, yet due to the gloss finish. Love the look, but not sure about the high-contrast of the wheels vs the rest of the truck in flat. May paint steelies to suit.

Anyway, I want to put a TRD grille on it, but also don't know if I want to leave it black, or paint it flat tan. And, if I leave if black, what do you think of replacing the stock headlamps with black buckets to blend with a black TRD grille if I leave the grille black? Some other combo? Lay it on me!92D2AB98-8895-4A02-9A3E-6FED4F7096CB.jpg 52d2f6e88c4d08ef59cdb77de4d14fbc-3670481715.jpg armory_bronze_white-2719527247.jpg

At least it was only a 1/4 of her finger in the screen, and not in your butt. You can edit the finger out of the screen. Your butt, on the other hand, that's a mental scar you'd wear the rest of your life.

Or maybe an exciting time you'll never want to forget! I'm not judging.

Don't worry, the gloss finish will turn dull over time. I would not recommend those wheels though. My buddy had em of her T4R and ditched em, because they don't allow the brakes to dispate heat

the grille & wheels gloss, and those & the glass are the only things to clean. Let the random rain & dew shape the flat paint patina.

That's a great point re: heat dissipation.

    Noted :hattip:
But, in your opinion, would a TRD grille look better in black, like on the 1st truck? Or, in a monochromatic scheme, like on the 2nd truck? And, what about headlamp bucket color? Black or chrome?

Bought a gallon of this for my weekend project of cleaning up the engine bay and undercarriage some. I've always had success with it, and I like that it's dilutable, and doesn't affect plastics or aluminum. It cuts well at full-strength.20241114_130739.jpg

Well, that's a shifty picture. Let's try this...

Just got a fresh 2.5 gal jug of the cheap stuff. Got a good squirt bottle & a hose i can mount to my pressure washer. Wanna clean my old smoker good enough to take a coat of paint. Prolly run through a couple steel brushes.

Black or color matched grill. No chrome anywhere ever after 1989.
I wouldn't do black headlights unless you have a dark color paint.

I kid because my Harley is old-school and I actually do like chrome. A lot :D

Chrome looks good on a flashy color like bright red, or even on black. But most others look better with color matched trim (totally subjective).

Harley's are exempt. Like Casey said, real chrome can be cool. Fake plastic chrome is a hard no.

My sister just got her motorcycle license and a Honda. Now she wants her husband to get his license and I think I will too. I doubt I'll buy a bike anytime soon. But wouldn't hurt to be prepared. I eventually do want a Harley.

    Right on.

You don't have the best of luck on 2 wheels, Casey. Just sayin'. Glad you're ok, though. Stuff is replaceable, life isn't.

    I don't see a problem.

Note: I have had mine since I was 18. I'm 58 now. The two ideas are not mutually exclusive, though.

Two most important things to learn, counter steering and trail braking. Those two will save your life. Also have to drive defensively and be hyper aware of the other vehicles and their potential actions.
