A few months ago my wife gave me the go ahead to look for a new puppy, she hasn’t wanted another since we put our oldest one down over three years ago. So I started looking, at shelters and online, we wanted a younger lab, found some obvious puppy mills and stayed away from those. One night 6 weeks ago I found a litter of labs at a farm a couples hours away. We went the next day and brought home an 8wk old yellow lab. My wife named her Josephine but I call her Josie for short.

 

What an adorable lil pup.

 

Thank you! She is a handful at times, what puppy isn't though, but we can tell she is going to be a smart one.

Doing what they love doing best, hunting rats at night. When they aren’t killing rats they are a pain in the ass riding around in the FJ40. They are gone now, but those were the best of years. Down to two now.

 

Ridgebacks are the best, loyal always.

 

I'm sure I've posted this a 1000 times.
When I met my wife, she already had Malloy.
It was harder to win him over than it was to win her over.
Not a pure ridgeback, but the biggest part of him was..
He was the best dog ever.....

Oh ya, I never fed them. They were wife’s dogs. Wouldn’t even acknowledge me unless
I had them on one of our 5 hr bushwalks. I like that, never worry about her with them around.

 

When the wife and I met and dated she lived in a nice duplex rental community.
I became known as the 'dog walker' to her neighbors.
She is 5' and barely 100 pounds so she couldn't walk him because he was so protective of her.
She still tells the story of our first date, I bought him a big box of Milk Bones and didn't bring her anything...

 

First time I spent the night over, Raja the big male chewed the toes right off my $250 riding boots. He
didn’t like me for a while. But once Cricket the JRT became mine, then we were friends. They are
smarter than we ever give them credit for.

They were getting hot so we went outside to play and cool off for a bit.

 

Patiently waiting for our first snow, probably several weeks away still, to see how the puppy reacts to it.

 

Samson goes from room to room trying to find a place to put it. He growls at me if I stare at him. And won’t let go of it.

After our last dog passed almost two years ago we took a break. Today that changed when we welcomed Baylee to our family. She is an 8 week old Bernedoodle.

 

I'll keep and eye for your rig. Mine is easy to spot because I'm the only mgm rock warrior around here.
