Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the SR5 upgrade package included the large 38 gallon fuel tank?

I have a 2015 DC with the SR5 and TRD OR packages but not the 38 gallon tank. I was pretty bummed when I realized that.

If I was able to get my hands on a 38 gallon tank, how hard would it be to swap it out?

I figured it was something like that. Just my luck, I'm always either a year early or a year late! lol

So any idea if getting the bigger tank is just a matter of finding one for the right price and swapping it out or if there is more too it then that (different mounts, different hole locations, etc.)?

    Thanks

Tell me about it. I bought the last '15 on the lot. The jerk offs told me there were no major differences between the 15's and 16's. Look into a Transferflow 46 gallon tank. And Roman says the parts needed to swap out to a factory 38 gallon tank basically make it cost prohibitive. Actually, you might ask @SoCalDave. Just saw on his build thread today that he swapped his out.

as has already been mentioned, if you want a bigger tank, go with the transferflow...

Definitely wouldn't buy a tank and hoses from the dealer. As mentioned, it would be too expensive. I was lucky to find someone moving up from a 38 gal.

Thanks for the heads up. Looks nice but  on the price! I'm sure it's probably worth it but I don't need a bigger tank that badly

I figured that. The only way I see doing this is if I find a relatively newer truck that's been totaled and being parted out.

I really don't need a bigger tank, it would just be nice to have.

When I bought my 14' they said there would be no more special edition like the old rock warrior.... They didn't know at the time, but later on came the TRD Pro, which I would have waited for. Now I have permanent TRD Pro envy haha.

They may not have thought an extra few gallons in the tank was "major", same thing with the brake controller. Those are the only real differences I believe, aside from a tweak of the grill. I have a 14' without either and would much prefer the bigger tank and BC, but when you think of model year differences, it's an opinion on what is "major".

My cliff notes based on my memory...
2006 to 2007= Major. Different everything.
2013 to 2014= Same frame, powerplant, different interior and exterior.
2015 to 2016= tank and BC
