Backstory. Dropped tank for supercharger fuel pump install. Everything fuel gauge worked fine. Dropped tank again to install DW300 fuel pump and DW injs and new tune. Float did work afterwards.

Here's were I am so far. Dropped the tank last night for the 3rd time to check float switch. Put my meter on it and moved the arm up and down. Perfect, it read around 350 down like 20, around there. Hooked up the FP bucket to the harness and moved the float arm. It registers on the dash fuel gauge, perfect. Put bucket back in tank, put tank back in, fill with gas. Gauge doesn't work. Found plug near passenger side firewall that has the plug for the float switch. Put my meter on it and it read 322ohms. Move the trucks round and meter moved between 318-322. Checked for power on the yellow green that carries the power to the switch and read around 1.3v. I have googled around and it seems that that wire is supposed to be very low voltage, around 1.5v but can't confirm if it's true since those people were also having float issues. Some were wire related, some float switch related. Maybe for some reason it works outside with our fuel touching it and once fuel touches the switch it doesn't work?

I posed this over on the SC thread but figured I post here to get more views and see if anyone has had this issue or ideas. I could drop the tank again and do other test or just replace the float and hope it's that. Truck only has 47k and is a2020 but did here the float was an issue early on but no mention if Toyota updated the part, it I believe they did because there are superceded part numbers.

Forget it. I am stupid. The bucket spined on me when fighting the top nut. Float was hitting the wall of the tank. At least I hope that's what it was.

The bucket should index so it doesn't spin. Iirc there's a tab but you have to press the bucket down and compress the springs to get it to engage, and it's just a little nub on one spot.

I just looked because if it did have that I probably would have seen the bucket side way. So it doesn't have one, wtf. That would have been great and saved me a lot of hassle. Now that this issue is fixed, better be since I am becoming a pro at removing the tank, I have to send you a data log file. The AFR seem to be now more stable than before but rich at around 9.5.
