I've been busy.

FIL's plow truck has been extremely neglected, for years.

Rear brake pads were gone gone, the caliper piston and the rotor got to be real close friends...

I did rear calipers, rotors, pads, full synthetic oil change, air filter, battery, wiper blades.

Still need to do some front end work, but that can wait.

 

What about ON the dinner table???

Ah man, wildlife pics were a lot easier. I hate vague answers. I don't want to seem pretentious or seem elitist either. And, for all I know I'm already attracting stalkers. I'm a pretty career damaged person in some ways, but really aren't many of us in some way. Anyway, the vague answer is that the public perceived that I had more authority to approve/disapprove things than I had. Sometimes I did have a lot of influence, and sometimes not. And then, on the internal side, intense scrutiny and lack of understanding and comfort with the aspects of authority that I had that they couldn't control or contain. The results were a win/win/lose, with me being the entity that shouldered the loss. I learned over time to thread this needle, but there's no way to do it without making personal sacrifices on occasion, or having unpredictable things happen. I learned to stay out of the fray, but really I believe in being a sword faller if that's what's needed to be done for the greater good. So my job was falling on my sword but being able to get back up to do it again. I'm sure that others share this reality. Thank you for indulging me, this is really not that big of a deal, I'm just not yet sure I should say what I was doing. Maybe some day, unless I'm abducted by aliens again.
