Is there a source to find hard cases for their tools? Some come with them and some don't.

This exactly, where we live now a vehicle is kind of a must. I have a similar perspective. Earn it and use it, violate and lose it. As long as my boy is getting straight "A's" and participating in school sports/activities I have him covered till he graduates college. Yea he will slip; he has ADHD I have ADD, I understand our brains are freaking everywhere so I will cut him some slack, and by slack I mean. Splitting fire wood, weeding, cleaning the house etc...the priveleges these kids have are insane in comparison to what I grew up with so I can't sympathize.

For sure. I plan on buying a new pair and getting these resoled since they’re broken in after 8 years of abuse.

There’s a lot of cost tied up in trying to 3D print something like that. And time. With a ~7.5” square print area, making a pack out insert for the half-width packout still requires two prints that get glued together, and probably 6-10 hours of print time per piece.

personally, I buy kaizen foam for the pack out case and cut it how I want. If I picked up a CNC I could look at making precut foam inserts, but routing out foam is an entirely new level of mess to deal with.

Were hearing rumblings of being told to cool it with p-card purchases because of some budget issues much higher up the food chain.

Where did you get it from? I’m hoping to find some decent Black Friday deals on knives. Benchmade and Spyderco are on top of my list but open to orthers too. this was my rainy day work yesterday.

Not sure if you're familiar with CRKT but I really like their knives. Smooth action to open and close, blade stays sharp and weight and the feel of their knives are comfortable and stable in my hand.

I personally haven't been thrilled with Benchmade current quality compared to their price. They definitely used to be amazing but I've stopped looking at their products.

But it really all depends what you want. CRKT is a great knife and very much set up to be a workhorse. I've been a fan of Hogue, I think the Hogue Deka is currently a much better offering than the Bugout but Hogue has a smaller offering pool. If you want an auto, look at Pro-Tech. The US made Kershaw's are also great.
But really, check out the knife thread and you will see all the things people are recommending and we definitely got some high end knife collectors on the forum.

You arent the first person that has not been happy with Benchmade Quality as of lately. My one and only Benchmade Griptilian from over 20 years ago (When they were made much better) I need to take the time to read through more of that post. Lots of great info.
