Hi all, I'm the owner of an '07 Crewmax Limited in Blue Streak Metallic. It's a 5.7l 4x4 truck with the tow package. It's been an amazing truck over the past 4.5 years. I bought it with 250k miles on it and have driven it right up to 397k miles and am excited to reach 400,000. Still running strong on the original engine and transmission. I can post a list of maintenance/repairs I've done if anyone is interested.

Edit: Here's a brief list with the approximate mileage

Oil changes every 5-7k. I used to run Mobil1 and the "toyota" brand oil from the dealer but I recently switched to Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. I found that oil burning is less on the Pennzoil than Mobil1, and Liquimoly worked well too. I've always run full synthetic, and mostly ran 0W20. I've had the oil analyzed by Blackstone several times. I also tried 5W30 and had them analyze that sample after 5k miles, but the 0W20 got me far better fuel economy and that's what Toyota recommends so I've stuck with it.

Intake valley coolant leak repair (251k)
Secondary Air Injection pump (270k), repaired first then bypassed when it failed again.
Water pump (280k, probably the 3rd water pump)
    Starter (285k)
    Front CV axles (302k)

Brake pads and rotors only once, one rear brake caliper
Transmission services: Dealer flush at 251k, drain and fills around 310k, then at 380k that I did myself
AC compressor, condenser, expansion valve, fan clutch at 330k, then another compressor and condenser this summer around 385k because I had a refrigerant leak that I didn't address.
Radiator, radiator hoses, thermostat, serpentine belt tensioner and another serpentine belt (387k)
(I may be forgetting a few items). From 300k onwards I have done pretty much all maintenance myself in my driveway.

What's still original: Timing chains are untouched, most of the front suspension is original incuding control arms, ball joints, tie rods, etc. Alignment is still solid. Last time I got 94,000 miles out of a set of K02 tires.

Just updated the post with the list. That's everything I could remember for now. What's notable is that my timing chains, front suspension, and transmission are still original. I've been amazed by the build quality of these trucks. It really sold me on Toyota.

Very impressive numbers. Is this use for a business or personal?

The 2nd gen Tundra is pretty hard to beat in performance/reliability.

Outstanding JB. Not a lot of repairs for a truck with that many miles. I'm at 250K+ now but it's highly unlikely I'll reach that number based on my age and the amount of miles I drive each year.

Mostly personal use. I drive a lot since I go to my family's ranch most weekends. And I love a good road trip. Here are some pics of the heavier things I've towed. I have worked this truck hard and it just keeps going.

Did you reseal the valley plate yourself? Having two 3URs - I figure it’s only a matter of time until I face this.

That's a great track record! My 2016 is currently at 267K, driving 30K/year. I'll catch you one of these days!

I had the valley plate leak also, somewhere around 200K, but no other problems.

it's against popular opinion around here but this is why I think the gen 2/2.5 is the best gen. Doesn't rhyme with first but sure keeps on proving us it is.

I let the dealer do the valley plate leak right after I bought the truck in 2020. I then learned to DIY and went on to work for that same dealer as a lube and tire tech haha. Pulling the intake isn't super fun on the 3UR from what I hear.

What's really not fun is trying to get that damn plate seated with ooey gooey black sealant all over the bottom while also trying to get the coolant pipe back in without pinching or rolling the o-ring. I failed on both.

Also I wish I could get 94k out of tires. My truck chews through them.

Nice! Did you ever develop the "cam tower" leak?

That's encouraging to see that many miles on a truck that is used for some pretty heavy towing.

I had the same truck only different mirrors. I bought it brand new in 07, and traded it in for a 2020. Old blue had 415,000 KLM and ran like a charm. Miss the old girl

Yeah I only took it down the back roads near our property. That load was a over the towing capacity but it did manage to pull it uphill.

I got it running for the first time in 20 years, so my stepmom's father gave it to me. I have several projects so I haven't spent much time on it. I did clean out all the pack rat nests and strip down the interior. And so far I've put a new fuel tank and fuel lines in it and a few other things. It's gonna need brakes and tires and it's a split rim truck, so that'll be fun lol

I decided to make a video about the truck yesterday. We just got a lift installed so I put it up on the lift and you can see it has almost no rust too. Here's the video:

    Wow, awesome video!
I bought a 2007 new, drove it for 10 years 120K and traded it for my current 2017.
Miss that old Tundra. Loved the look and size of that gen. Only thing I ever did was oil change, never did one other bit of maintenance (I probably should have) . Towed a 5,000# boat/trailer up and down hills. Never had one thing go wrong with that truck. Everything stock, no upgrades. Great truck, mine was grey, love your blue color!
