Kill 'em with kindness! We're getting plenty of snow this week. My plan is to get up even earlier than him and shovel both our walks.

I look at it like this: I can't say for certain why he did what he did, but the circumstances surrounding it lead me a certain way. If I retaliate, and am wrong, now I'm the ass. If I retaliate and am right, it confirms to him he got to me, and would likely perpetuate a needless problem.

I've got nothing to prove. If push came to shove, I'm a 6'2" 240lb gun toting proud American, and he's a 5'9" 160lb IPA salesman from Chicago. I'd rather just take it on the chin, and continue to treat him the way I've always treated him - with decency & respect.

my opinion:

I say this as a Dad.

anyone caught DUI...should:

1st offense
do jail time 30days
revoke license for a year

2nd offense
jail 3 months
revoke license 3 years

3rd.
5 years in jail

If you cause an injury or death.
follow 2nd degree murder standards...with min 10 years.
complete asset liquidation to victims family

no half measures.....


I have seen folks have 6 offenses with ZERO jail time.

God Bless those folks that have been victims of DUI assholes.

 

Then you'll just have a bunch of folks driving without a license when they get out of prison.

One of the contractors working at our site was killed by a drunk driver on the way home from work a couple months ago. Of course the drunk was fine.

 

We have pretty strict laws here in WA but the courts find them too oppressive so they are always pleaded down. Habitual offenders are encouraged.

Every few years it becomes a campaign issue, so the laws might change but what happens in court doesn’t.

The laws aren't strict enough. Before reefer was legalized people were doing jail time for possession. If you drink and drive jail time should be a mandatory min.

 

I'm pretty sure that's not why I'm on the naughty list... but if that's the dirt Santa has on me I'll own up to it and keep my mouth shut about everything else.
