I'll take that to be no.

I get it, most folks don't think about it but I'll bet if you dumped 6 quarts of oil in your driveway you'd think you had one hell of a mess to clean up. ;)

^^^FYI both @windblown101 and i are VERY avid motorcycle riders. It wouldn't surprise me if we have rode with the same riding buddies at some point. I totally agree with him on this one. It sucks to go down on pavement, but what sucks more, and isn't uncommon is to get run over by a random vehicle after you go down.

Funny story, i have one similar but mine wasnt oil drain related. I went for an oil change at the Toyota dealer one tuesday morning because i was about to head out of town at lunch for a trip with the wife.
I left the Toyota dealer and headed to my mini storage in town to grab some things before we left and heard a funny knocking noise similar to the Fast and Furious eclipse, the funny whirl and loss of RPM and clank clank knock boom. Turns out the crank locked up and broke and spit a rod thru the side of the block and oil pan and cut the oil pan in half and all that dribbled out was about 10-12 ounces of black oil. Turns out the tech didnt put oil back in the engine after he drained it and swapped the oil filters so my engine locked up from lack of oil.
I made it about 6 miles from the dealership.

I've gone down on someone else's oil slick in the rain before. It sucks, and I can definitely say that cars hurt. I've also had friends that were killed by cars hitting them after they went down.

Change the filter, maybe the oil, and wouldn't think twice. If the engine was gonna die it'd be dead already. Someone forgot to torque the drain plug, or didn't torque it enough.

This - I have put one on each of our cars and do my own oil changes. I buy the oil from Costco when it’s on sale and stock up on oem filters. Takes me about 20 minutes per car now. I have saved a ton of money and have peace of mind now

I'd torqued it down with my new snap-on electronic torque wrench. was trying to find any reason to use it. just an old washer that made it let go.

Same, I try to support veteran-owned when possible. I've done a couple oil changes with it and it has worked great.
