So I failed miserably at painting this thing using the SEM paint everyone recommended. Then failed at vinyl wrapping and to save my sanity I just bought the black version. That being said you think this is worth to sell? Can’t post on selling market yet so before I start getting my posts up figured I’d see if this is even worth it or salvageable from you professionals. I mean I’ll even save it because how much they are but idk what went wrong on the paint, the SEM I got blotched as soon as I sprayed it, little circles everywhere, sanded and repainted several times and still looks shit hah.
The drip is from my last attempt to see if the paint would hide the roughed areas(did not) but I sanded it with 600 so idk how it got that rough

As long as the tabs aren't broken and its not damaged. Sell it to anyone who plans to paint. Once you sand off all your existing coatings and then prep the surface, it should be like every other trim piece out there.

Edit: who ever buys it will be doing that prep

Okay i figured someone could still use it. I'm just curious how I did so bad at painting it. I've paint numerous things in the passed with spray, and this stuff just went on different than ive seen before, almost like a wax coat was still on there, but i sanded it well, and still would not come out without seeing sanding marks.

Its hard to say without seeing in person. After you sanded, did you clean the surface with a wax remover/degreaser? If not, its possible that there was something on the surface and when you sanded you spread it over more of the area creating adhesion/curing issues with the SEM paint. I've used the SEM paint on a few different pieces and I've been happy with how it sprays.

But, you could have gotten a bad can that was stored (even before you got it) in an environment that was too hot or too cold and it ruined the paint.

I'm wondering if there was some sort of detailing spray or interior cleaner on it.

My thought was that too, maybe i didnt clean it well enough or something. Little ticked it turned out like this but I wouldnt have settled for anything near looking like that hah. I guess ill put it in storage until someone needs one. I mean the black is $220 with shipping and the silver is like $270 with shipping lol, new anyways

Expensive plastic lol. I did mine with the SEM not long after I bought the truck. 4 years old now and holding up well.
