I'm thinking about removing the black vinyl from the A & B pillar but wanted to get an idea of what it would look like. I'm specifically looking for MGM color trucks but if there's different colors post them up.

This has more or less convinced me to remove mine. I have an ice cap truck and it look to much like a raccoon with the vinyl.

It’s just styling. Most people have tint and covering the colored B pillar gives it a modern “sleek” look. If you dig old school style - you probably like seeing the individual window frames.

I think I'm going to keep mine on for my truck. I think it blends better because all my badges are blacked out.

While I agree with the tint blending in thing....mines is faded to s#$t. Sure, if it was nice glossy black, maybe, I think I will try some of that black vinyl restorer and see what happens.

I totally agree that the blacked out A-pillars is a subjective thing, however, my big complaint is the fact that I just noticed that the vinyl is starting to peel at the top of mine.

Looking back at the window sticker and Toyota description of the vehicle, it states that the vehicle comes with a “black PAINTED” A-pillar, not a “black sticker” on said pillar.

Feel that I got robbed/hoodwinked here.

No dis-respect, blacked out A-pillar? Ain't that the one that holds the windshield? I have yet to see that blacked out for one (black color not invited to the club)
But B-pillar, @Bergmen no offense, it feels, naked....lol
But yea, I black out my rear and 2nd row windows so B-pillar blackout rolls with it....
Just wish Texas doesn't have that strict of a rule for the front row tint.....
Them Houston/Texas sun in the summer is a killer....

The A pillar on my Army Green is blacked out. And yes, I'm one that doesn't mind the chrome:thumbsup:

I'm pretty sure most of the 3rd gen A pillars have the black vinyl on them. Mine has it

Yes, all TRD Pro's and a few other trims are advertised with said black painted A-pillar. However, as this thread has stated, it is not painted it's a vinyl sticker, Which totally rubs me the wrong way.

I've always wanted to remove it from the A post but not the B. Haven't gotten around to it, a little nervous it won't come off right and leave residue or paint mismatch because it's been glued on for two years already

You're still under the bumper to bumper warranty. Bring the peeling up to the dealer and see what they say.

I've been able to get a dealer to replace a bumper applique under warranty on a different vehicle before. It was covered under the 3 year/36k mile warranty.

You could be like me and end up with a random extra piece…owned it 3 weeks, first wash and I just caught it! Scared to try and take it off myself, so I guess back to the dealer I go.

I like the black on the A pillar and its like a film protection too.

My gen 2 had some rock chipping on the A pillars from sanded roads in the winter….

    I am keeping mine
