Are my LCA bushings shot? I think I know the answer. What to do with them?

That’s a lot of play on drivers side. Passenger wasn’t horrible, but still some. Replacing the LCA is usually the route people go. Buy one that comes with bushings installed, or buy one raw and install the bushings of choice (likely better solution). Otherwise, get the torch out.

And whatever you do @gagecalman, avoid Mevotech lower control arms. Ideally, go OEM.

@Jack McCarthy do you have any input on your Moog LCAs and how they're holding up, for how long?

@axtawesomizer are you still happy with your Delphi LCAs?

Yeah OEM is far the best - look how long they lasted. Pricey yes but the good stuff is rarely cheap in $$$.

I figured it was time to replace them.

I'm definitely going with OEM adjustment cams and bolts. Also going to go with the complete arms. Not interested in replacing the bushings only. Too much work.

Probable going to go with OEM arms but will wait to hear about the Moog and Delphi. Truck is only driven about 2500 miles a year.

Looks like the cheapest price on all OEM parts is $700 + $50 shipping at Ourisman Toyota of Richmond.

Possibly if they have a sale going on. My typical dealer in AL was able to get to $520 out the door, no tax, free ship on the arms. If there was a sale going on, like the 25% sale that just ended 7-10 days ago, coulda got that closer to $390 shipped for the pair.

Looks like your part numbers would be 48069-34040 (driver) and 48068-34040 (pass).

Where are they shaking out after shipping and tax?

You may want to run the numbers through https://autoparts.serratoyota.com and see if they can beat the after-tax + ship price.

A bit more on price and shipping. Doesn't include the 6% tax. I need a sale.

Go to Checkout and they'll take the shipping off in the checkout area. Should come out around $645 if my math is right. If they don't take off shipping, in the Checkout window, apply promo code FREESHIP.

Just looking to save you $50.

    Thanks.
I might get outer tie rods as well. Mine seem ok but being I need a good alignment anyway it might be a good to replace them.

I put moog on my sequoia 2.5 years and 40,000 miles ago and they are fine. Not great, but fine. For your limited driving, I think they'd be ok.

Thanks again for the great info.
Just curious if you are saying that they have 25% off sales as well as discounting the MSRP 30% already? Right now Serra has the arms for $260.31 (MSRP $370.09). Do they sometimes have a sale that would reduce it by another 25%.

Correct, 20-25% additional, beyond the MSRP discount. But the full gamut of discounts doesn't show up until you hit the "CHECKOUT" page. You just missed a sale, it ended like 12 days ago.

What makes you say that? What would your idea of "great" be vs. what you have now?

Usually people post about it on here, often in the Lunch Table thread. A few of us get emails notifying of sales. Typically they'll have one around thanksgivin/black friday. Sales happen around many major national holidays, July 4th, Christmas or NYE, Veterans or Labor or President's day, that kinda thing.

The steering is a little more loose than with oem, probably due to the bushings. And the coating isn't nearly as durable.

Thank you Shifty for the Serra suggestion. Just ordered the LCA's and a few other things.Tundra 095.jpg Tundra 094.jpg
I held off on the hardware. After cleaning the area I'm hoping they will come out and be fine. We'll see?
I didn't want to wait for a sale because I need to install the OEM LBJ's and reboot the axles with OEM boots. Great weather right now but winter is coming and I have to work outside in the driveway.
    Thanks again!

You can generally reuse the bolt and rear adjustment CAM nut. The CAM sleeve will almost always need to be replaced due to corrosion.
