    I remember this event. It was all over the national news. Freeways looked like a staged zombie movie scene.

    Rumor has it Vail Resorts had been cloud seeding to pump up this storm. The weather outlets were calling for 2-4" and I easily have 8" plus. Kids are on a two hour delayed start today.

    I have seen snow a handful of times but never spent more than a day around it. My dream has always been to live on some acreage in a rural area. Not sure I could handle long snowy winters just as I didn't love the long hot summers of Arizona.

    I finally sold out and got a toro battery snow blower. I don’t want chores to be my workout anymore.

    Whatever this forum told me to do
    does it work well?

    I absolutely dread my ryobi leaf blower.

    I would imagine a snow blower is tough on the batteries.

    Think so. Everything froze so roads were ice and the majority of drivers had no idea how to manage that being from Houston.

    Keep us informed about battery life and its ability to throw the heavier snow on warmer days. Did you get much out of this storm or just rain?

    I’ve been burned by bad equipment over the years, we all have. The Toro stuff is pretty good. I like their battery system and I’m hoping/assuming they don’t change it. I have a leaf blower, snow blower and trimmer. All are good. The snow blower comes with a 7.5 amp battery, and it throws snow well. Leaf blower is awesome. Weed whacker is ok. Probably will get a mower in the next few years.

    Live Thread hot take;
    You shouldn't have a fake tree in the house until your kids move out.

    Bonus points if you cut it down in the forest with them. :smokertransformer:

    Yuhp... You can hit Santa Fe or Taos, NM for snow fun!!!

    Mammoth is really nice in the winter, but a bit crowded... They have a 'Night of Lights' event (which is Dec 14th) this year!! Live music, hot chocolate, some hot food, and a tram ride to the event from the Westin Lodge or the Village... Live band before the fireworks w/beer, etc...

    Agree. Kids could care less about cutting our own these days though. We pick one up form a local grocery store. They get their trees from the Emerald Forrest company out of Washington state. Best trees available from anywhere around my parts.

    I also vote Santa Fe NM or Taos. Close enough and won't cost you an arm and a leg. The CO Rockies are outrageously beautiful but also not a cheap place to visit in the winter once the resorts start operating. If you did want to experience CO in the winter I'd go to Buena Vista but I'll be honest with you about our BBQ. It's not TX or OK BBQ. Moes Original BBQ (AL BBQ) is in quite a few places in CO and they are good but can't compete with my favorite ever BBQ place that I've ever visited. Oklahoma Joes in Kansas City.

    I'm guessing you wouldn't want to walk out to your truck looking like this though? This was me this morning...IMG_9089.jpg
