Glad everyone's safe and sound after the storm and the Tundra did its job! Now you have a valid excuse to get some bigger tires :D

LOL, I am going to burn through this set and then most likely go up a size. The real test will be the road trip next year. For now, i am just thankful all the damage was isolated to the yard and some leaking on my patio. that is a win after all of that. And of course, that she is safe.

Used the trusty gal to last minute hook up and burn out of town to dodge that hurricane... Fun times.

Found a truck stop style RV camper on the route and stayed night 1 here.

Not to mad at this and mostly happy with how things are going so far.

Learned a lot on this evacuation run, which we are still referring to as a last minute family trip. Even if it was ill prepared lol...

I will now be casually looking for a dometic cooler, working to get bed power installed, trying to find time to get the other mods already purchased installed and I am debating purchasing some night camera display stuff I have been watching.

The truck did great. Heard a new noise I need to track down too, but mostly she just drank fuel (6mpg at one point) and got use where we needed to be.

Resting in a Hilton during the worst of the storm:

    upload_2024-10-3_23-48-17.png

Most of our money has been dumped into the house and baby recently, but I am going to redirect some time into the truck to get it a little easier to use for emergencies and what not. One thing I need to solve for sooner than later is lack of a seal on the bed cover. I am tired of the water in the bed, but it is all just time and money....

I wish I could sleep as hard and safe as your little one is!!!! Good job papa!!!!
I went with iceco, they have good warranty on really good compressors. Dc to Dc charging is what you want if you go dual battery setup(sounds like it might be worth it in your neck of the forests)

So I am going to get that inverter and run it to the bed and to the center console.

Does anyone have the link to the plug swap for the center console? And while we are at it, the link for the rear end breather mod? I will search for them again after this storm, but definitely want to get my bug out truck better suited for.... bugging out.

With all of the storms happening and how hard I have been running this truck in both evacing and helping family, I just ordered the ARB Differential Breather Kit... It will go in the pile of stuff for me to do when the baby and wife dont demand my time.

Debated where to post this, so decided to post it here...

I am from Pinellas County and we were absolutely wrecked by this last hurricane. I moved to North Florida, but couldnt stay home even though that was the smarter decision. Here are some pictures of the chaos, leaving a lot out as it isnt my place to post the word of my circles pain online...

Loaded 50 gallons of fuel and my trailer to bring south:
    upload_2024-10-13_22-27-55.png

Already gave out my chain saw and pole saw, but found 1 more usable saw in stock on the drive down, so I ordered it:

    upload_2024-10-13_22-28-42.png

    On the drive:

    Lines for gas:

    just a part of many:

I wish I could have done more. We have a lot of people in the circle who cannot do for themselves and hiring help is scheduled out. But it was nice to feel involved since I stayed out of it as long as I did. I am still in shock over what I saw in person and I only went to family and close friends. There are others much worse and the pictures I am getting are enough to make me understand why people are going to leave Florida now. I wont, but I get it.

The verizon truck lol... Yeah, that was turning onto 19 when I was getting on to park. I used to live up there and that is where 1/2 my fam is. The other half is closer to the old flea market in Seminole.

LOL, no kidding! We have some SPF gear and some sunglasses for him, but he is too small still. Todays 2 month appointment said he is big AF, but not enough for that gear.

I bought these to install in the rear 4 bed mount bolts and finally got around to doing two of them:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07M6K765R?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

This four pack did not require any modification to fit the factory bolt, so I liked that.

The plan was to remove all four of these bolts, but I ran out of time so I got the rear two done.

    upload_2024-11-27_10-10-12.png

I was able to complete it using mostly hand tools. I used a grinder to seperate the washer from the bolt which took less than a couple minutes for each one.

Not build related, but spent a couple days with the MIL and then went home to get my gear from the hurricane damage. I am debating putting together a quick video of the debris still on our roads back home, but I got my gear and brought it back up to the homestead. It was nice seeing the gals together again:

Used her to run wood debris to the processing area and back again... mostly just staged for loading.

Realized I have been slacking on the build thread, so about a month ago I installed the rear breather kit. Pretty straight forward and thankful to have it in before storm season.

Also thought my turn signal bulb was out, but when I moved the light it worked again.... so... I will have to look in to that.
