Feel like i am getting the run around.
I put down a deposit back on JULY 27 for a Tundra. They said i would have my truck middle of September. I always asked for an order confirmation...nothing until today. They are just now telling me my truck order has been confirmed and has a build date of late October so i wont get my truck until mid November.
Should it take more than a month to get a truck ordered and get a build date from Toyota?

You would think the order could at least be confirmed ASAP. Actual build date probably depends how backed up Toyota is. Guessing on this.

Confirmation should be done right there and then..I think.

There's probably a wait for the 2016's so that may make sense. You can also check with thee dealers to see if they can transfer the deposit if you can get it quicker.

The whole time since i made deposit they kept saying the order is recycling...we have earned the order.
Why did they ever tell me mid of sept. if they really did not know.
I just feel misled in a way.

no more 15s in the config. that i wanted.

    Sr5 upgrade package
gray double cab long bed 4x4

Told the guy i need a good discount becuase of misleading me...what would you guys expect if you were misled??
Am i out of line here?
Feel like i got pushed to the back of the line.

    Still do want the TUNDRA

The Tom Petty song Waiting is the hardest part comes to mind.

Sounds like someone made a mistake and maybe didn't submit the order to Toyota when they were supposed to. I wouldn't imagine Toyota would have a 3 month wait.

I went through similar when I tried ordering a Pro in April. Took the dealer 7 weeks to get me a build date when they had already given me a VIN number with the deposit. I was passed around to multiple sales guys and promised the moon with zero follow through. If you have other dealers in the area start calling around. I had two others work hard but couldn't find the truck I wanted and another came through with a two week delivery on exactly what I wanted. The original dealer tried giving me the run around on getting my deposit back and trying to get the keys to a trade in I had left there. Funny how as soon as I raised my voice I had a manager with my keys in 2 minutes. The best part of my whole buying experience was shredding the original dealer in the Toyota satisfaction survey. Not sure if they really do anything but the dealer I bought from made a huge deal out of making sure I filled it out and doing what it took to earn the top ratings from me.

You are talking about the long long bed (8'). Not the 6.5 ft? They are hard to come by. Just going to have to wait. Stock up on beer, popcorn and ammo.

So i had my hopes up of getting the truck sooner. Almost 10 days ago my dealer said they switched orders with another dealer and would have my truck built on the 25th!..
So i was excited. Just now they text me and say they could not have the changes made to the truck to my specs and now i wont get my truck till november.

When i put deposit down on July 27 they said i could have my truck here middle of sept. and i think that was just a lie to lure me in on a sale.

Someone forgot to order my truck is what im thinking....im pissed

    so now..

    i can
    1wait and say nothing
    2say i will wait but i need a discount
3cancel and wait until the new redesigned tundra comes out

    what would you do?

I'm impatient and would check other dealers and get your deposit back as they didn't have the truck when advised they would.

Already checked with another dealer and doing that would only make the wait much longer.

This dealer SUCKS at ordering a truck! the runaround..

I dont even know now man..

Forgot to mention i filed a complaint with toyota and the dealer never even called me. I even called back toyota to double check they had my correct contact info and told the lady and she said this is rediculous. The customer relation manager from the dealer was supposed to call me within two business days...almost two weeks later nothing.

I will damn sure walk over crappy service like this. I already have two trucks didnt really NEED another one.

Just go to the dealer in person and get ahold of the GM...I'm sure they would be willing to assist in some way to make this better.

order canceled and getting my deposit back. I have had enough of the runaround and games. Didnt need a new truck that bad. Might reconsider a tundra again but definitely not from this crap dealer.

yep bank account is running low from it..
Stuff like this is what gives the car industry a bad name. Sounds like the dealer was just plain lazy. People in the back( techs and service writers) do all the lifting and people up front sit on there ass and push paperwork.
