Passed 400,000 Miles Today

Love it!

 

I drive as much as I possibly can, rolled 20,000 this week. Will keep trucking until I can get to 400K.

 

Toyota is the beast of the road. I have an 08 4.7i Tundra that has 458,812 miles on it and still runs as strong as ever and everything works like its suppose too. I just had the alternator replace 2 weeks ago. But the issue I keep running into when I try too buy aftermarket parts (cold air intake, ect..) Is that the vin # shows it is the "Grade Model" but it has "SR5" Imblems on it as well. Anyone with info on why that is

 

I have 2 Tundras,gen 2 and gen 2.5, not so many miles but hoping for it.

Are you the original owner? If not, the SR5 emblems could have been added by the previous owner. Not sure why tho.

 

She is at 495641. My other tundra I use daily now is approaching 300k. No major issues with either just routine stuff.

 

Thinking today, since I purchased my first one in 2000 I have owned four tundras. Including all four, I have driven approximately 905k miles in these trucks. Only one time did one of the trucks leave me stranded, fuel pump went out on a jobsite. Incredible since the way I use the trucks in our business, lots of short trips hauling heavy loads on rough construction sites. No repairs other than fuel pumps, starters, alternators and routine maintenance. Never had accident either. I’m almost at retirement age and my tundras have been a great asset.

 

Do both have aftermarket oil catch cans to achieve such longevity?

 

I believe the 5.7 (and probably 4.6) have an oil separator included from the factory.

I really only hear of the boosted applications using an add on catch can.

I really needed to read this today! I am having some issues with mine and, being the negative person that I am, all I could think of was going flat-assed broke buying a newer truck.

Damn near 500k. I just crossed 300k, only reason I sorta stopped driving it was because of gas being well over $6 a gallon. Then transmission issues creeped in but 4 solenoids later tranny issues have been resolved. Will be doing tranny service next month though, lol... Other than that, water pump and starter, I replaced the radiator when the ratchet slipped out of my hand and lodged itself in the radiator, so I'm not counting that one.

Careful about admitting that around here, I was told to get a bigger truck.

 

I'm just messin with yall, Im kinda new to the Internet, in my "trollin phase" I suppose.

 

Just over 500K now. I need to get an odometer pic. My other tundra which is the daily driver now is at 332K. Loaded up with about 1400# of material for a job starting Monday.
