I made a couple desks out of this. The plan is to make some floating shelves to match, but that has been put off for about a year now and probably wont be anytime soon lol... that is some honest type work!

That’ll be sweet! If by honest you mean tedious and labor intensive, then I whole heartedly agree :D

One day it will be lol... for now I will stare at the space knowing it will be done one day... and yes sir, that is what I mean!

Important and worth it! I am thankful I have not had to worry about leaves yet, but that time is coming.

The ideal solution would be a vinyl deadlite/sash in white with obscure glass.

After a few swear words and some changes, I have my first screen replacement done and in. I need to figure out how to make the screen pull tighter and not have any overlaps, as well as find a better way to prevent the frame from flexing... but $ for $, a lot happier with this. The alternative was no screens or pay someone else. New screen is on the right, only 12 more to go..

    Appreciate the reply.

Got it figured out, and have a new 4/0 x 4/2 sash with etched glass on order.

Popped the interior stops off, and that exposed the sash inside its outer frame. Basically, the sash is nailed into an outer frame, and installed into the window inside that frame. I think the gameplan is to oscil off the nails holding the sash to the outer frame, pop out the sash, then seal in the replacement sash, re-stop the window, then reinstall the trim.

Removing the inner stops allowed me to measure the WxDxH of the original sash, which was enough for the glass shop to get another sash on order. It all made sense once I pulled the inner stops and I could finally, clearly see the sash...

That gunite looks pretty thin and I don’t see any rebar which is why it’s cracked. You gonna put in a new pool?

Before and almost after on this kitchen. Gotta love when the client ignores our advice and gets the floors refinished before all construction begins.

Did you do a liquid membrane after the cement board and seams were done?
Been reading up on different methods. Also curious as to how well it’s holding up. Any issues a year plus later?

Did a re-do on a rotted fence post, notched it for the horizontal board's and for the top.
I let the glue bond for the overnight and I'll paint it this week and drop it in next weekend.
Looking around on Amazon for metal signs to hang from it.

Yea was built in 1955 originally , wire mesh and thin gunite. Was remodeling 4 times, three layers of plaster and the last one was a fiberglass system, Side walks/decking were poured with out rebar, but there were two 4-6 inch layers on top of each other. It was a piece of crap, but got 7 good years of use out of it when the kids were younger. I am filling it in and building a 2 bedroom ADU. I am a GC.

Finally wrapped up all the little finish work on the kitchen refresh and can officially call it done! 15 days of very part time DIY (damn real job getting in the way) from pulling counters to now.

    Thanks!

Lol once you see it you can't unsee it, like the arrow in the FedEx logo, thanks a lot!

Appliance updates next. Debating on color, stainless steel would soften the contrast, white would be too matchy, black too much contrast?

The LG fridge i got a couple of years ago has held up great and a hell of a lot less smudges and fingerprints than regular stainless.

All new windows, and painted the trim. Big change this summer! Windows were 35 years old, trim was a faded green. We changed it to a deeper brown with dark red accents.

So, side note - I'm 48, and got my kitchen redone last year...and I got 3 different stories from 3 different people. General contractor, kitchen renovator and flooring guy all had different things to say. I finally ended up asking people who *had* their kitchens renovated (4 of them) which to do first before choosing. Thankfully they all said the same (wait until the kitchen was renovated and THEN put flooring down).
