Yes. The Ram Charger will be electric with a gas engine acting to increase the range by charging the battery system. Same idea as the Scout.

the ram is an even better option.

    ~600 miles....in a full size pickup.

It's the same concept as the trains. The diesel on a train still runs an alternator/generator, but it doesn't go into a battery. Trains can have a whole car of fuel if needed, so the battery isn't needed, is my guess.

yes trains shoot electricity directly to the motors....I get that.

but these Reverse hybrids don't do that, they will only feed the batteries directly.

why can't they feed the motors directly?

Because they aren't generating enough power. If they were they'd have unlimited range aside from fuel capacity.

    see...I'm confused.

I bet that genset could provide enough amperage to have the vehicle cruise on the hwy.

If it were a Diesel and large, maybe. The tiny 6 cylinder dodge is using won't. For a car it might, but not for the weight and aero of a truck, and especially not if it is hauling or towing.

It is so quick to accelerate you have no time to worry about soul. You just need to hang on and drive. Which is the whole point of enjoying a vehicle IMO.

Yep! Go fast doesn't equal soul. Never will. See NHRA and the guy in his garage building a real hot rod with his heart and soul put into it. Anyone can push a pedal and go fast...
