    When we set our trust up we almost used a self draft option, but decided against it due to not being fully sure that we were making all the best choices. Lawyers fees are worth it sometimes. And you won't hear me say that often.

    I started with a self-draft, but the wife has an attorney look at it. I know I can be more comprehensive than most estate lawyers - they use boilerplates - but as to the language being defensible in court, it's better to have the lawyer chime in.

    Some companies offer legal insurance as an employee benefit. Some of those have contracts with specific firms, but some have covered events like drafting a will or trust. Good to look into that to help pay.
