Headlamps keep blowing

So I have a 2017 Tundra SR5 TRD off road and I keep blowing headlamp bulbs way too soon. I am using Sylvania ones in the purple box? I just changed the damn thing this summer! Why is my truck blowing lamps? Is it the crap quality materials used in lights these days? What headlamps do you guys use? I am not interested in spending a ton of cash to switch to LED. Thoughts?

 

I’m using Sylvania Xtra vision bulbs.

 

Are you using medical gloves when you install them? If you get any oil from your hands on the bulbs they will not shed heat and fail, the only other thing I can think of is a short in your electrical system, or you just got a bad bunch of parts.

 

I am using neoprene gloves yes.

 

When I used those I only got about 6 months out of them.
Changed to Silverstars and they lasted longer.



Swapped the headlights for 2018+ OEM LEDs and haven't had to mess with all that since..

 

OEM's are expensive, but seem to last. On other cars I've had my best luck with Philips.

 

OSRAM Night Breakers were my last set and they lasted a couple of years. But they are probably the same thing as OSRAM makes the Sylvania bulbs.
