I will buy those, and they will sit in my garage for the next 5 years if my speed of projects goes at the current pace....lol

At the rate I get project parts on, I think I’d be better off just buying a second tundra - drive one while I mod the other, then drive the other while I mod the one. My boys wouldn’t complain. The Mrs might…

The goal would be to eventually install it on my truck.

Check eBay. That’s where I bought it for 5 hundred something.

Sure, I will join in that REM polishing party. I don’t have the gears yet so keep me posted on your timing.

Also looking to get on your installers schedule…once yours are done and he can adjust pricing for a rando with the same truck.

Will ECGS even install gears you don’t buy from them? Or do you just mean for the polishing?

Ok, they are basically located between us as I am 1.5 hours north of you. The business is ASF Motorsport. No need to coordinate with me on bringing them. I plan to just drop mine off as it fits into my schedule during their business hours. I spoke with Barry there. He said just bring them by any time and make sure to write down your name, address, contact Info and that you’re a credit card customer. 7-10 day turnaround time. Should be quite simple. You can also ship them there if you prefer. As for the gear install, I could ask him if he would be interested in the work when I see him next.

Where did you get the Speedmaster? I thought they were available at Jegs but my cursory search didn't pull it up. Just curious now that the Powertrax is rumored to be NLA. Summit has them listed as Not Available so there may be some truth to that. Hopefully the unit I've got sitting on the shelf isn't a dud.

Got my rear 4.88 today. Found that Standard has front 4.88's for $192. Going to see if it drops more...

And honestly these are going on the shelf for if I decide I need them eventually or need to get into a diff for some reason in the future.

What do you all think? Would this affect the seal/functionality? Guy is looking for $200. Could probably get it for $50. Has been listed for months

You should be able to take the ADD tube and actuator from your current diff and put it on the donor diff after gears are done. If you're dropping cores off at Zuk, he'll probably want you to remove it anyways.

I didn't know the history of my donor diff's actuator, so I reused my original ADD tube and components. Here's what yours should look like removed:

In the thread no more powertrax @BiggHertz posted up their website: https://www.speedmaster79.com/TOYOTA-10.5-36T
And on ebay they show 10 in stock. I'll be ordering it up tomorrow. I'm still seeing if I can getvit cheaper. Musclecarhq has it for $796 but $170 shipping, cause they are in Australia...
Any good shop can get the splines fixed up if they are tight on the powertrax lsd.

I wonder if they have a torque bias rating. I seem to recall the Auburn being 500 and change; don’t recall what the Powertrax is. The speed master says it’s preloaded. Just curious about comparing behavior between the different systems.

If needed a well worn in axles shift is the fix for the Powertrax issue, consider mine FIXED. Ha. I'm not too worried about it, but curious about the Speedmaster. They drop some high-speed lingo in there, whereas the powertrax appears to be a well built, but more budget oriented piece.

Thanks Brent. I was kinda thinking that as well. It looks to be in fair-ish shape. Might check it out for giggles and make a game time decision unless anyone sees any major red flags

Just got mine. The 10.5 has a production date of 11/22 and front 9 is 10/18. Look pretty decent.

I’m excited to experience the 5.29s, wish I had the opportunity to install them sooner than I do. I’ve dropped the gears off for polishing on Monday. I’m told they will have a chrome like finish so that should be interesting to see. Another question in regards to polishing, do I need to take it easy on them for 500-1000 miles after installing them whether they have been polished or not?

For anyone looking for bearings, it looks like Auto Zone has the price to beat on a rear master install kit. The Motive kit uses Koyo bearings and comes with everything besides ring gear bolts for $435.99. Likely will pull the trigger at the end of the month if the price is still the same (gotta get through Christmas costs first). The front kit is the most expensive one I've seen by a long shot, but at least the rear will get you half way there.
