    Hello All,
I am considering using the Rockford Fosgate DSR-1 DSP in my system upgrade. By chance has anyone else used this DSP in their 3rd gen?
If not this particular DSP used, what did you use and why?

Thanks for any and all feedback.

I had one when it first came out. A little glitchy but it was awesome...way easier to use than the Helix I had in another vehicle.

eddiefromcali, you used the Rockford Fosgate DSR-1 in a 3rd gen Tundra? If so, how did you connect the head unit to the DSP? Did you put RCA plugs on the high-level speaker wire outputs to connect to the RCA input harness of the DSR-1?

Reason I ask is, I am concerned that the speaker output wires from the head unit are low voltage as seems most Toyota systems are. If I put RCA plugs on the wire ends to hook up to the RCA input harness for the DSR-1, the signal won't be what the DSP is looking for.

I did not use it on this truck but I did use the high level inputs in the vehicle it was in. Just use a taco tunes harness

The BeatSonic add-on's have an integrated DSP. The ~$300 model is not adjustable but it does improve the sound quite a bit with factory speakers. BeatSonic also makes a ~$500 model that has an adjustable DSP (and also line level outputs). I haven't read any reports on here about the more expensive one, however. They are both 4x40W output.

That's where the problem lies. The DSR-1 does not have a direct line-level input harness. It only has a RCA input harness (confirmed with their customer support). I can install RCA plugs on the line-level (speaker wire outputs) wires from the head unit, but I am concerned the voltage may not be what the DSR-1 is looking for.

The BeatSonic is only a basic DSP and doesn't have the ability to connect to external software for tuning capabilities.

Not true at all...I had it hooked up via high level right off the HU

    Not true. https://beatsonicglobal.com/products/enx-t317?rq=mk_toyota~md_tundra~yr_2024

From the product page: For advanced users, the DSP software tool is available to download for free and can be used to change the audio system parameters to suit individual listening preferences.

Were you using a t-harness that was vehicle specific? They do not have a harness yet for the 3rd gen Tundra and the only harness that comes with the DSR-1 is a RCA input. This is the info I was given from both their customer service and from the pictures of included accessories.

I made my own T harness

You either cut the rca ends or put rcas on the other harness, flip the switch to high level and you're set

My apologies, I have been down sick and am just now getting back to life again. Yes, this is what I was expecting to have to do, but was concerned that the RCA input harness of the DSR-1 would be looking for a specific voltage and I have read that Toyota brings down the speaker output wires to a 5volt signal (but I may be confusing that with the JBL systems).
