Please keep us updated on this, I have the exact same issue and it is driving me insane. I've pulled the headliner down from the sunroof side enough to stick foam tape at the contact points that I thought might be the culprits, but was not able to quiet it down. I'm afraid to pull it down any more, don't want to damage it.

I don't think the pano roof has anything to do with it. It's the velcro holding the headliner up. I've found out that in colder temps (10-15 F) that decrease the PSI in your tires to below 30, it softens the ride up and I've noticed the noise much, much less. Of course, we don't want to be riding with 29 PSI to avoid the noise.

Update, after having the Toyota techs verify the shaking of my headliner two separate times, they will be replacing it on Monday next week. I'm slightly concerned completely replacing the headliner may cause other issues, but I'm trusting the professionals. Will provide an update after they replace it.

I too have noticed the sagging/loose headliner in used 22's w/pano on dealership lots. Seems like they all had about 1/2 inch of play. I was surprised to say the least. I really wanted the pano roof, but decided against it after the leaks, lower headroom than my current truck has, and the loose headliner issues.

update: when the tech at the dealer removed the headliner, he noticed that the majority of the plastic clips that hold up the headliner were loose and/or installed incorrectly. They are reattaching the clips and re-installing the original headliner. They said it was their professional opinion that this was the cause of the noise and sagging headliner. If the noise continues when I get my truck back, they will replace the headliner, which has already been ordered.

While they are working on my truck, they gave me a 2022 Platinum Tundra as a loaner. The loaner has the same headliner shaking/noise, but worse than mine.

    Hope this helps.

My headliner doesn’t sag but I have this annoying clicking noise from the front of the drivers dash by the windshield. It’s annoying as all get out. I have worked for hours but can’t determine the source.Could you isolate where the noise was coming from? My dealer wants to remove my headliner but I am afraid that if they do that I will them have problems with it sagging.

Sounds like the same thing that I’m dealing with. I’d let the them take it off and make sure the clips are all connected properly. They likely aren’t. Seems to be a common issue with 3rd gens.

Did you isolate your clicking noise to the headliner? My noise is very well localized to the front of the dash. I have touched and pressed all over the headliner and can’t recreate the clicking sound. Was the other Tundra that you drove also had the noise and could you isolate it?

TRD Air Filters, Front door windows tinted to match the rears. Wheel locks, Talons Garage cat shield, Tyger Automotive soft tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats with Tuff Skinz Custom Emblem kit, Toyota OEM Emblem Black Out kit. AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
I had my truck in for the headliner creaking and cracking along with the drivers side door ticking last week. Of course I noticed the creaking and cracking when the outside temps were below 30 degrees and of course when I dropped my truck off the outside temps were in the 40-50 degree range. My loaner was a Highlander. Anyway they asked me to come in for a test drive and of course I couldn’t hear anything because it wasn’t cold out. The technician did tell me that there is a Velcro and clips above the liner and for me to push up and force the Velcro to snap into place if I hear the sounds. I did push up in one area and heard a snap which seemed to help. As for the drivers side window the vertical rubber trim was replaced on the drivers side door. I guess I’ll do some more experimenting as I move into the colder months.

My clicking/crackling was definitely coming from the headliner. Not the dash. So was the loaner platinum. I can recreate the noise unless I go over bumps and it’s cold. It sounds like a shaking, clicking/crackling. I could
Never visibly see the headliner sagging.

Was this issue a 2022 issue or did it migrate to the 2023's as well?

I just purchased a 23 with pano roof that was having this issue. Couple dots of glue on the velcro strips seems to have solved the problem.

Yes. Mine too. Right by the sunroof controls. It doesn't stay attached to the plastic anchors up there. Used to bug me a lot. I just ended up getting over it. :(

I read another thread about this somewhere. It is a little clip that they use to locate the windshield during installation at the factor. That clip and come in contact with the headliner or dash trim. Search the threads and there is a full video about how to go in and cut the tip off the clip (which is essentially useless after windshield instal).

I have the same trouble with my head liner, I took it in and they just stuck shitty Velcro to try and hold it up.... Didn't work, looking for some strong double sided tape that will do the trick, this is very frustrating when you spend almost 68K on a new truck, still say I should have kept my 2019, if I figure something out, I will defiantly let my fellow Tundra owners know....

I just used a strip of Butyl tape in one corner to see if it holds, Velcro does ... I will update in a few days...

    Hi Guys,
Been a few days since I repaired the headliner in my 2023 Tundra, the Butyl tape seems to be holding well and I only repaired above the driver's seat....

What kind did you get? My headliner is doing the same thing. Thinking some string double sided and some Velcro may hold mine up.

I have the 1794 / what I did was I picked up some heavy duty Velcro, I believe it was 20-30 pound, got some Gorilla double sided tape, doubled up the Velcro and mounted inside, just be careful you don't bend the headliner pulling it down to fit the Velcro, the hardest part you will find to get to, is the switches area where it hangs lower, it seems to be holding ok, you may have to push it back up every once in a while on hot days, good luck

The velcro that is used is not the traditional type that has the hooks on one side and fuzzy stuff on the other side. The one they use has hooks on both sides that are supposed to lock into each other, it works but not that great. I've popped my headliner sides to run cable for my rear dash cam and overhead switch panel. I haven't had a problem with mine but I only have maybe 3k on it. If it were to happen to me I'd obviously bring it to the dealer since it's under warranty. If anything I'd ask them to put more of the double hooked velcro on it. If that didn't work I'd go for the extreme double hook stuff that is used on EZ-Pass tag holders like this.

That's exactly what I used to secure the headliner, not perfect but works, also used Strong Gorilla double sided tape instead of what's on the Velcro....

I avoid sunroofs in autos and skylights in houses when possible for much the same reasons. More trouble than they are worth.

But hard to dodge them in some higher lines

For those with the “clicking noise” in the windshield area, check the housing and such for all the TSS camera/sensor. I had the same type of sound in that area that was driving me nuts forever, and it turned out to the the housing rubbing on the windshield. I slightly repositioned it and the noise went away for good.
