So took the truck to get the hail repaired. Sat for almost a month. Now no audio comes out.

    2018 Limited Tundra
    Kenwood DMX1057 headunit
JL 900x5 amp under passenger seat

The factory dash speakers are wired to the headunit and don't have any sound coming out

All fuses look good. Pulling my hair out wondering why no sound is coming out.

Headunit works with voice commands and phone calls just no audio out.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Does your amp has a bass knob and have you tried removing it or adjusting it?

I had a similar issue and my bass knob was shorted out which somehow led to zero audio in the truck

I have moved the bass knob but have not removed it

I'll look into it tomorrow when the sun is up. Thank you.

It has to be something stupid. Odd how the headunit has perfect functionality but zero sound.

I have to take the truck to an audioshop to have my drone mobile looked at. The mobile app isn't working and its going to get cold here soon. I can have them look at it once I exhaust all my brain power which isn't much anymore.

I spent like 5 hours trying to figure out what was wrong and the second I pulled the bass knob out it was dam near max volume and everything has been fine since.

    Might work might not!

Never hurts to try. Never would have thought about the bass knob!

I know you said the dash is wired to HU but I’d still look to see if the light is on at the amp.

There’s not a mute button or setting that got bumped is there? Are correct lights on the amp on? I have a JL RD 900/5 and correct on light is blue, protect mode is red. Amp fuse under the hood good? Since no sound is coming from the dash speakers wired directly to head unit or other speakers wired to the JL amp, there’s gotta be something going on with the head unit. How is your battery? If your truck sat for a month, the battery might be on the fritz. I’ve seen weird electrical problems audio and otherwise stem from dying batteries.

    Yes

I really cant tell if the light on the amp is on. I need to unbolt the seat to get a better look.

I did have to get a new battery yesterday after I picked up the truck. Thankfully it was under warranty still. The fuse for the amp looked good. I googled pictures of the amp and it looks like the light is in the middle. I cant see anything with the seat on top.

I messaged Kenwood about my problem, see if they reach out.

Should be pretty obvious without needing to unbolt anything. It’s a big ass blue light.

So no light on the amp. My buddy and I tested everything we could think of. Fuse is good. Amp is getting power. Remote wire has signal when the truck is on. Going to have my amp tested tomorrow.

When it was at the shop he had to jump it everytime he moved it. Wonder if that had anything to do with my issue.

You said you confirmed battery and remote 12v - what about the ground? I’ve had the ground work loose from the amp before.

Yep Ground is good Cleaned up the area under the seat bolt. Sparked right away when I put it back on the test more stuff. The light on the amp never came on.

Make sure you've got your battery negative disconnected when your making connections. If you're hooking up the ground and sparks are flying that's not good lol, but in that case power has to be flowing from battery and through amp, but if the lights not on on the somethings amiss.

I would go through the connections with a multimeter and fine tooth comb, especially the signal inputs/outputs on the amp but that still wouldn't explain why you're not getting sound from even the dash since those aren't connected to the amp.

Took the truck to an audio shop to have the drone mobile fixed. It was fried and so was the amp. They are ordering me a Rockford Fosgate Prime 750W 5 channel amp. The amp
must have got fried jumping the truck as much as my body guy said he did.

Thank you guys for all the help. I wish I didn’t have to buy a new amp but it is what it is.
