I sort of agree, sort of don't.

My son has ADHD, and over time (as someone who himself has it) have found that the best way for him to learn is a) trial by fire and b) make sure the punishment or the consequence *HURTS* when it hits. E.g., my son didn't take cell phone restrictions seriously - *UNTIL* he got a girlfriend he really likes. It drove him freaking insane to not talk to her for a few days and now he toes the line. ;)

With that said, worst case scenario for a vehicle can be a LOT worse than for a cell phone. And I recognize as a 16 year old sophomore in high school, he's not yet in a position to go to school, buy his own vehicle, afford insurance, etc.

So no, I don't mind 'buying' a vehicle for my son - but for now, it is his to USE. *I* own it, and if he doesn't follow the rules we set in place 100%, he loses the use of the vehicle until such time as he rectifies the situation. :)

Once he leaves the house or has his own job, I may or may not give him the vehicle; I may have him 'buy' it from me at very favorable rates. It all depends on how things go. I also have been setting money aside for him for a year or two now as a sort of 'nest egg' for him to use once he leaves the house - or for screw-ups that I have to fix. ;)

Dang! Those were just $459 about two weeks ago on Amz. Many were sold for NC & FL storm aftermath.

There are so many models. I have seen one in the $450 range but not the Delta 2. Right now this one is $799 on Amazon. What i noticed is the store that I got them from had the price at $699 but some of the other HD stores have them on their site at $999.

On the topic of buying vehicles for one kid/s

We bought our daughter a 2011 Corolla in 2023. Why?
    4.0 GPA
    Works PT
    Takes a few honor classes
Goes to advanced school for medical science
    Responsible

I wasn’t going to make her pay $11k back to us. She’s a good kid, and does well in school and work. She makes great choices and I want her to have what I did not have growing up. (I mean I did, but back in 2001(?) it was a 95’ Ford Escort that was an ex-rental car. I went through torque converters, and transmissions on that car. Not reliable.
A 2011 with 100k on it, fwd, is reliable, cheaper insurance (since she’s a minor) and cheaper maintenance all around.

I picked mine up last year on a Black Friday deal for 549 and a few months later picked up the extra battery for 499. I use them all the time camping during the summer, we dry camp and they work out well.

We are looking at 2yr old cars right now to use as a 3rd vehicle so its nice and broken in for our daughter 7 years from now. This way I know the history on the vehicle and can use it in the meantime. Wife had an 07 Camry...loved toyotas of that era.

Got this barrel grip jigsaw. Also got the Collins coping foot for coping moldings. Almost cut my finger off a few months ago while using a corded D handle DeWalt jigsaw coping some base cap. Cordless and more ergonomic handle should hopefully keep my fingers intact.

Just picked up this 3/8 split beam from HF to replace my Craftsman.

They're currently running a 30% off all ICON hand tools for ITC members this weekend. 25% for non members.

Probably the MightyVac? I looked into a few different ones and ended up with this one. Seemed to be the better deal out of all of them. I do like MightyVacs extractor/syringe though so I may end up getting that..

Yes but it's exactly like the one you bought but has a hand pump instead of air hookup.

Added another P3 (Cru-Carta / Cru-Wear blade and Micarta scales) to the collection and a couple Byrds. In the process I met some great people that are fairly local to help feed my collection when I want to add more. I paid $150 for the P3 and $20 each for the Byrds. Thought it was a good deal but curious what Black Friday will bring. IMG_6129.jpg IMG_6130.jpg IMG_6102.jpg IMG_6128.jpg

Tried out the inflator today (post # 8951). I deflated my spare to 19 PSI and set the inflator to 36 PSI. It took 7 minutes and 51 seconds. Not too bad. I bought 2 for the 4Runners and 3 more for Christmas.

That does lend context. If I were in your shoes I'd probably do the same.

As things stand, I'll likely be buying a used Camry or Accord for my son to drive; and then once he graduates, it's his to use/drive, and I'll give it to him if he remains reliable/responsible. Good thing is that he's very good natured, is busting his butt in school (though he doesn't get the 'best' grades) and has an excellent work ethic.

Yes. Kinda. Easy to use. Lots of stock I can't get local. Always have all the deals up front.

See Packout deal is right there. Northern Tool where I got stuff today did not even know about the deal that shows up when you check out.

Here's what I got coming from Tool Nut. Note that our p cards are strange, I more or less can do almost anything as long as it is under $500, and no multiple tickets from same place is safest way to stay off the radar, so that's why I bought some from Northern and some from Tool Nut. Also can take advantage of the $150 off orders over $399 twice.
