    Bought a miter saw and stand at Lowe’s. Instead of pushing to the parking lot I summoned the car to the front door. The double takes it got coming to the front lol

    Whatever this forum told me to do
    was sitting around talking to some fellas here at the warehouse.

    My question to them was:
    What auto is more technologically advanced than a Tesla?

    it was a decent, but short discussion...the Porsche Taycan, lucid, rivian, Ferrari percolated to the top.

    Cadillac had a decent showing.

    I threw out the Porsche 911 Turbo S.

    then we compared prices....game over.

    What say y'all?

    What are a few of the most technologically advance autos out there?

    what are some of the features out there that are NOT included on a Tesla?

    the Audi A8/S8 has a decent tech pkg...too bad it sux on reliability

    That's a too vague. What defines "technologically advanced" for this question?

    Do you mean what has the most touchscreen functionality?
    • Tesla, for sure, but whether or not having every feature of the car work in a single screen is a good idea is debatable.
    What has the most user friendly interior?
    • Definitely not Tesla. It's so sterile and it's all endless menus/tabs in the center stack. Even seeing your speed is a PITA. Adding an actual cluster screen (like Ferd) would be infinitely better for usability and streamlining both screens. It makes Tesla feel like they are too cheap to
    Do you mean what vehicle is the most advanced in it's chosen powerplant?
    • That can go two ways. In terms of EV technological advancement a Tesla is in it's infancy, but current ICE vehicles are a century worth's of advancement. In terms of currently most advanced EV Tesla would be the clear winner, but again it's lightyears behind ICE.

    You really gotta divorce ICE and EV when comparing vehicles. They aren't in the same world. Having more features in a screen doesn't make the Tesla "more advanced" it makes it different. Hell, look at off road "technological advancement" and Teslas are dogshit.

    And tesla is a complete failure in internal door handles. Gimmicky does not equal advanced.

    Don't overthink this.

    the question is based "in toto"

    meaning all factors considered.

    and the question was for autos. all kinds. this is no time for bifurcation.

    The original point stands. You have to clarify what you mean about "technological advancement" because they are advanced in different ways that cannot be fairly compared.

    hmmm..

    compared to what? a "normal" car handle?

    I open my door with my thumb. I tap it on an ergonomically situated pad.

    And if the battery is dead?

    I grab an ergonomic bar and gently squeeze (giggity) whether my vehicle is running or not. Battery or not.

    if battery is dead, I pull the handle....which is very similar to "normal" autos. which is situated in a very similar place as "normal" cars.

    All Teslas have the backup manual levers. To get in with a dead battery is a little bit of a pain, I'll give you that..

    I liked the tech of the 911 Turbo S engine....it's way out there.
    couple of guys mentioned the dash & features of the new Cadillacs.
    The new Corvette engine is a monster. old school tech.

    suspension? Audi is out there. Mercedes too. non are reliable tho.

    safety? The model S performs in the best categories.

    comfort? dunno...HD trucks are sure at the bottom of my list!!

    so let's slice this up into categories...

    cars = Model S
    SUV's = Model X
    Truck = Tundra or GMC
    HD truck = GMC
    exotic = Ferrari
    semi-exotic = porsche 911

    I know they all have them, but it's under a cupholder cover or something for the rear doors. In an accident that requires rapid egress it's a bad design. It's unnecessary for the sake of the gimmick. I don't like it.

    Add cargo space and offroad ability to your factors for SUV.

    For truck it's definitely not the Tundra. My F150 beats the Tundra, but I lose out to the higher end GM trucks for tech. It's nuts what they have.

    So, I checked and from Tesla themselves. That "note" is a huge fuck up IMO. Absolutely unforgivable.

    I would much rather you posit an answer.

    my original request:

    2. what are some of the features out there that are NOT included on a Tesla?

    and you have offered a smattering of distractions except that....thank you.

    now. I am scoring you as "does not follow directions and is belligerent".
    and will assess a penalty of 1250 internet credits.

    so instead of petty diversions....let's see your answer to #1 & #2.
