Just put a deposit down on a Tundra in Quebec. 2020. To my eye this looks like surface rust that i can brush off and treat. These are the worst spots, the rest of the undercarriage is reasonably rust free.

Thought i would join here and see what the pros think. Anything to be worried about here?E5B25636-0B30-4EAB-9D32-A0A72F91C42F_1_105_c.jpg 348D3839-3B70-4562-BBA5-9DEA8693E804_1_105_c.jpg 72DBD371-3977-4078-8ACB-7481084C1CF6_1_105_c.jpg 0BB94939-9A5A-4F4A-841B-B2AD3CFFE0B3_1_105_c.jpg 8763C4D5-150C-4C2D-A566-1A0943C4EE5C_1_105_c.jpg

    Function before sparkle.
The second last picture makes me cringe a bit.

It’s not terrible for a Quebec vehicle, but I personally would keep looking unless the price is good enough to pay for a good frame sealing (that blasts the rust off first).

I'd recommend getting under that with dryice or laser rust removal. One time big expense but with the proper
rust preventative it's taken care of. The link below is a guy in Toronto. I've seen one truck done there, not cheap
but for that result worth every penny in my eye. I live on Vancouver Island and am planning to take my BJ74
to the dealer in Edmonton because I think it's worth it.

Crikey, for a not even 5 year old vehicle, thats terrible. Yeah, I would definitely be looking at a place that can blast the rust off and protect the frame if the truck is worth it.

That was a truck that should have been prepped better. I'd have to actually see it but in my eye
it's correctable stuff. Really hard to have devastating perforation rust in such a short period of time.
I'm an optimist. The pinch weld bottom of rockers has more concern in my eye than the frame stuff.
Definitely needs to get inside with rust convertor/protectant. Cosmoline/Beoshield/Fluid Film etc.

Unfortunatly , we dont have dry ice /lazer de-rusting In Québec !

These OEM weld Sucks from toyota , i brush and paint mine every second years and rust proof every year !

Look for the Spot weld on the C-frame and the back half of the frame ( About gas tank-back ) Crap and salt get trap in the frame C-pieces and upper x-member and thats where real rust start , and also right at 12 o-clock in the inner rear fender , there is a bracket there thats spot weld and salt get trap there a lots.

if its clean there : dont worry ! buy the truck, have a little fun-sunday cleaning rusty welds on the frame , spray paint and get it rust-proof properly !
