    Hey all,

looking to upgrade my current wdh. I have a third gen tundra hybrid, with bags.

my trailer is about 6k lbs dry. About 31ft including hitch.

debating hard between the b&w continuum and the safe weight middleweight. Which and why?

b&w looks super easy to hook up.

I want something that will maximize safety, but also want something easy to hook up and go. I currently have an old style chain curt wdh, with two friction sway bars and it’s a pita.

    anyone experience one or both?

    Thanks.

    Lots of stuff!
I have heard good things about the B&W after they got some initial issues worked out. It seems easy to use.

I have an original Weighsafe with the square bars probably more for the heavier trailers and my trailer comes in at around 4,200 lbs. I have dialled my Weighsafe in after about 4 years of using it and I find it easy to load and unload. I don't adjust it these days, I just stick it on the truck and look at the scale to see my tongue weight (usually the same each time). I use the tongue jack to take the pressure off the bars so I can slip them on and off with ease.

The trailer seems fine consider the bars are stiffer than what they are offering now. I thought about getting the lighter bars but figured I don't need to change anything at the moment.

Either of you get the B&W? I talked with the engineer who developed it to address my main concerns and he walked me through their testing, as well as validating using a hydraulic cylinder in a load-holding conifg (generally a no-go use case). It had been in the works for a decade prior to its release. All seems good but I have zero experience with WDHs. Would like to hear from this group.

Using the hydraulics to hold the load is basically the same thing the Weighsafe does. I think it can move dynamically as the load on the loadbars changes due to fluctuations in the road. The loadbars on the B&W are probably going to absorb more of this load. The Weighsafe bars are stiff but they new middleweight bars should flex a bit more for lighter trailers.

The scale in the Weighsafe design provides some absorption of the fluctuating loads. I was going to stick my GoPro out there to watch the scale while driving but haven't gotten around to it.

I think the main concern that I have is how low the bars hang on the B&W system. Other than that, I think it would be a great system.

I have been mostly happy with my blue ox WDH. I am going to end up selling it and going with a propride, but I am heavier than you and also pulling a sail.
