    General rambling...

Time to winterize our teardrop, so while sanitizing the tank I decided to pull over some ODOT scales. The trailer was as light as I figured, 2,250# full of water.

The truck? That pig is 6,950#. Roof tent/rack/spare fuel/fridge/etc.

Also noticed the starter is starting to sound shitty. I've had a cold start ticking intermittently that sounds like an exhaust manifold leak, so may be time for LTH while I'm in there...

Well.... The starter shit the bed.

Luckily no trips for the foreseeable future and I have a work truck to daily.

So.... ARH or SW headers? I believe both now fit around the larger 38 gal fuel tanks? (Tank isn't in yet, but will be soonish)

I always liked how ARH only used a single air tube for air injection. Makes install and starter changes easy. Haha
I've pulled my JBA's a few times for starter swaps. Not a big deal anymore...

It was probably closer to 15 minutes. I spent the other 9 minutes walking in circles in the driveway cussing...

I stubbornly ignored some strange sounds...and no jumping as the starting gear was broke in several pieces. At least it was covered under warranty. Won't be ignoring unrecognizable sounds anymore.:D

Mine sounded weird firing up in the morning. Stopped to get coffee with the wife and that was the end. Next to a Walmart so threw a new battery in, tried to short the starter out, but she was big dead. I was renting a shop in town at the time though so "lucked out" it was a short flat tow. Pulling the passenger engine mount stud and jacking the engine up an inch made a hell of a difference pulling the starter out! That was at 215k, less than 1000 miles after installing the supercharger.

so i fixed the O2 bung, put in new O2 in and im still getting the P219a code pop. i never got this code until i went with bigger pipes.
it never pops for bank 2 and pipes are opened up just as close as bank 1.
    its start to get frustrating
maybe that side needs smaller pipe to go a bit farther back after the O2??

Had that on a variety of trucks, never found a solution. One dude, I think he's on the forum, datalogged for hundreds of miles until the code blew during the datalog and we still couldn't figure out what was causing it. In every case we just turn the code off since it doesn't seem to do anything for the best I can tell. It does seem to be a side effect most common with modified exhaust setups, but even then it's still rare for it to show up which makes it harder to figure out the root cause.

problem is mine will pop within 5mi and then my while dash goes apeshit. thats the most annoying part let alone popping code.
did he try going back to smaller piping after the O2 about a foot? that may be my next battle to test. maybe not enough back pressure that close as mine goes from the 2.5"ish to 3 almost right after the downstream O2

I would think if the code is turned off then the dash will be fine since it won't trigger in the first place?

We never found a solution, probably a half dozen or more trucks i know of with that code. Right off the bat I know @reywcms had that code and we ended up turning it off too since the rest of the truck looked healthy.

I don't like to turn off codes, but P219A/B I've concluded are best to just turn off, but hopefully you can find a solution!

i think its more when im in a cruise, low rpm, on a slight hill (at times, i seem to notice happen more then) thats why im guessing maybe pipes too big near O2 and not getting it out enough :notsure:
but just now coming home after clearing didnt pop, i was on and off the throttle a lil more because of cars in the way. another reason why i think its not pushing it away enough near tje sensor that mayne with a smaller pipe after o2 for like a foot will be able to :notsure:

Is this a code I can expect to battle with once I have my SPD midpipes installed?

I'd say no. Never had an issue until switching to a bigger TB. But truck runs fine as @snivilous mentioned looking at the logs.

It's really hit or miss. The code is for fuel trim imbalance, whatever that means. It sounds as simple as the fuel trim is off or doesn't match the other bank, but from logging I've never seen correlation with either of those being the case. I've seen bank 1 and 2 trims way further apart and not blow the code, and the trims be close and blow the code. I haven't written down exactly which setups had it and what mods they had, but I feel like exhaust tweaks were common, albeit I don't think having cats or not made any difference. I've messed with the tune a bit, adjusted cylinder trims, etc. and it never made a difference, and sometimes would take hundreds of miles or three miles to blow the code to further complicate things. Turning the code off seems to solve it, and I can't see any downsides to doing that since the truck seems to run fine otherwise and something freaks it out for a split second but isn't obvious what the issue is in the first place.

It's like people having hard starts and there's no common ground as to what setup or what injectors cause it. Seems to be the same way. I wouldn't worry about it, probably won't happen--and if it does I wouldn't worry about it and have your tuner disable the code and go on with life. That's ultimately what we've done in every case it's cropped up.

I remember OTT saying a long time back in this thread he came across the code once and the guy swapped the head on his engine (how the hell someone comes to that conclusion is beyond me) and that apparently fixed the code? If I didn't know better I would say it was something I do in the tune that no one else does, but Nate doesn't run a tune from me so that somewhat removes that question. And of course most Tuners are so secretive it's hard to know how common the code actually is, hell some Tuners disable every CEL right out the gate further confusing when the code actually exists.

I’m hoping not! The truck is at the mechanics place now getting those installed, and a few other maintenance odds and ends. Gonna see how it sounds with this DD TRD dual replacement system first, and probably switch back to the TRD duals to compare and make a decision on the catback. Also slowly gathering parts for a 5.29 regear. I bought those stupidly cheap Motive 5.29s, and just found a dude selling the rear master install kit for $280. Now just to find the front master kit at a decent price. Even if I paid 450 for it, pretty sure I can have all of the parts needed for a regear for under 1,000 bucks which is totally worth it to me.
