    Nitrogen filled tires!
Sure sucks to see my average trip mpg is 24+ when my Gen3 Taco averaged 18! What! Yep my Gen3 Tundra is way better than my Gen3 Taco, and so much nicer in every way.

Not necessarily. 2.7 ecoboost would blow the doors off your tundra. It’s not all about torque Because diesels would be kings if that was the case.

im not really clear on what your talking about racing or mpg?

I wasnt referring to either , just everyday truck duties

plus , not a ford fan no matter how fast or good mpg they get , it broke on the test drove , so it was out for me .

Either way trucks are slow and get bad mpg in the grand scheme of things , that was my only point , so if you want good mpg, and it’s a must , trucks are kinda out, although they are getting better. Lightning is out due to towing range until they improve that

This is as bad as RV'ers bitching about mileage. If you are concerned with mileage buy a Prius.

I’m just referring what you said. “Focus on 479 at 2400 or a ton more of the hybrid”
I’m not saying trucks are fast but they can be and the tundra is not one of them. If I want towing I would get the 3.0 duramax that has more torque than 3.4tt. And why would you judge a manufacturer off of one test drive??? Are you judging Toyota for blowing engines? Or if “when”your engine blows will you discard like you did to ford?

Ok, hold up, what are you on about? 2.7 ecoboost would blow the doors off of what? It’s got less torque and horsepower. What metric could you possibly be using?

ok, that’s fine , you can do whatever you want , I was simply making a general comment that trucks don’t get good mpg so just like the torque you get instead, regardless of platform or manufacturer

as far as the test drive fiasco, so your telling me if you went to test drive a truck and it broke down you would still buy it? If so , that’s fine , but I wasn’t comfortable with that.

To me comparing that to a recall after you bought it seems like apples and oranges , but to each his own.

if you like the gm 3.0 for towing more than a tundra , no problem, I totally get that. For me, I didn’t care for the seats or the ride when I tested one, just personal preference there

felt like two metal bars down each side digging into the rear end, awful

the AT4 I tested , I was really disappointed in the ride quality , the ford and tundra were both way better , with the AVS tundra being the best

@DrZoidberg is the gm seat expert , ha!

Gotcha. So a truck that weighs significantly less to make up for lower performance is a good argument when we are talking trucks? MPG might not be a consideration for trucks but sturdiness actually is. Good job

Just do your research!! Actually the 2.7 is overbuilt engine. And it’s crazy efficient and on top of that it does 0 to 60 in high 5. It’s actually more peppy around town than the 3.5eb. Mix that in with an overall lighter truck yes it will blow doors off your truck and my truck as well! But would I tow a lot with it probably not.

And to quote about lower performance. Actually it has more power liter per displacement than any trucks on the market

but it’s still a ford and they circle the problem for ya! Ha!:p

kidding aside , the only ford I was interested in was the powerboost with the 7.2 kw generator, that’s a great feature and what I tested , but alas , didn’t go so well

I hope Toyota adds that to the hybrid at some point , that and get the battery out from under the rear seat , two areas Toyota needs to improve for hybrid purchase consideration

Wow, and the guys supporting the 3rd gen are accused of being cheerleaders. If I’m not mistaken this whole train of thought started when you criticized BB for stating the torque numbers. Then you said 2.7 blows doors off, power to weight ratio, peppy around town, etc. and now you’re back to you won’t tow with it? You know what’s good for towing? Torque! So you managed to come full circle to prove that you were just stirring shit and didn’t actually have a point.

I really screwed up not thinking I should be focusing on power to weight ratio before buying a Tundra. I guess I really should've bought a motorcycle. It's peppy around town, much lighter, and I'm sure would cover all the same needs.

F150 2.7 Ecoboost vs Gen3 Tundra in drag race. Tundra was running what looks like 35's or 37's, heavy off road tires. Ford was on stock street tires. Tundra won.

Drag racing between trucks as pictured above is fine for youtube content but means jack when it comes to trucks doing truck things.

Shouldn't they have used a 3.5 Ecoboost? Seems like that would be more apples to apples.....

wow took time out of your day to prove me wrong congratulations!! Now go look up official reports from actually credible source. Note to self tundra barely won lost the second one and the ford had crappy stock tires that couldn’t get any grip. Maybe tomorrow you can find a video from a roll

So you’re saying the power to weight ratio being better doesn’t make a big enough difference in THIS video? Take the L and move along man. You’re only making it worse for yourself.

Looks like I pinched a nerve?? If you need help reading maybe someone can help you. I never said I wouldn’t tow. I said I wouldn’t tow a lot meaning a lot of weight. Based off of GVWR and maximum towing. Come full circle?? If you can go back and read my other comments. I did mention 3.0 duramax for towing. And to be honest why are you even responding. I was talking to BB not you Francois!

Ok Nick. Message BB in private then if you want to talk to him without anyone else commenting. I thought that was how forums worked. You sound a lot more aggravated than me. You’re the only one with pinched nerves about your precious 2.7 eb on a 3rd gen tundra forum. Don’t know what you were expecting.
