What the hell is this noise??

    Hey Folks, first post. 2004 tundra Crew cab, 475k miles.

    I recently had my front brakes replaced, pads, shoes, discs, everything. Also had front passenger and rear drivers side wheel bearings replaced.

    Shortly after I would hear this noise when turning and stopping to park. If I go super slow you don't hear it. If I stop straight you don't hear it. But turning and stopping you can hear it 75% of the time. Brakes fine, drives fine. Nothing noticeable otherwise.

    Sounds like your ABS system activating. Likely one of the ABS tone rings wasn't pressed back in to the proper location during the wheel bearing replacement or one of the ABS sensors is dirty or damaged. Assuming a shop did the work, I'd take it back and have them verify those components. If you want to check it yourself, the process is not too difficult.

    Excellent insight, Thank You! Given it started right after the wheel bearing replacement, I'm guessing the former is the problem.

    Bilstein 5100's with 2883's - close to 2" Replacing the 2883's and going back to the bottom perch ASAP -mobile/apple play stereo with sub and backup cam -Power stop HD front calipers and rotors for towing -20" wheels with 32" tires (305/50's) Toyo AT 3's with no rubbing -Westin nerf bars -Detroit axle new (not rebuilt) steering rack with poly bushings, inner and outer TRE's -Suspension Maxx extended front sway bar links -Overland tuning - medium level -Power front leather seats and steering wheel from 06 Sequoia -fully de-chromed/blacked out trim -all light housings incl 3rd brake light and tag lights replaced with smoked lenses, LED where appropriate -mini projector headlights -fully rebuilt trans and new torque converter -new complete drive shaft with spicer u-joints and carrier bearing -all LED interior lights including backlighting -new lower window seals for all 4 doors -all new hardware and clips for tailgate Next: Dirty Deeds racing exhaust with LT headers, yellow box, 12 hole DD fuel injectors, redo or replace door panels
    I had that problem. It only happens below 5 miles an hour, but mine would also do it straight ahead. If it's ABS most likely you can feel it in the brake pedal

    my issue was like others I've read in this forum - started immediately after some front end work And they swear they didn't touch them. The O-rings for those sensors are old and stretched out, so it's easy to knock them out of alignment or if they take them out and put them back in to pinch the O-ring, which keeps it from being centered

    Interesting, but not in my case. Aside from the sound, nothing else seems different at all.

    But this additional info is great--now I know exactly has to address the problem. Thanks!
