I think I've narrowed down my slider search to P&P vs SDHQ. I only want something that is functional as a slider as well as a step and fully bolt on. Of these two, what one would you chose and why? Thanks!

I like the P&P ones personally, seem to not quite be angled upwards as much.

I had the same problem and narrowed down to the same two, I choose p&p because they’re cheaper. Here’s my take.....don’t look into it too much, like the is 9mm handgun better than 45 debate, a rock slider is better than tube steps. If you are a really serious rock crawler then SDHQ is better, weekend warrior p&p is more than enough. I think p&p looks cool with the dimple plates except for the rear step.

I haven't thought about this for a week or so, but ready to pull the trigger once I decide what brand to get. Please post photos of your truck with either of these sliders. Please tell any stories about how these sliders have held up or the usefulness as steps. I see the pros and cons of each, but can't decide :)

yeah, I don't like the way Demello look as much as these brands and I don't want to do any drilling for sliders.

I guess I am a little biased :p . I won't knock another companies product but I can give you the info on our sliders.

We use all 4130 chromoly steel (is it over-kill in strength? Yes. Its also an upgraded to most companies "upgraded" HREW material. But chromoly is also lighter). 100% bolt on using all existing holes in the frame. We are the only company that makes the first mounting point off the front body mount. This is important because that is the first point of initial impact if you drop off a ledge, etc. Unbraced this will eventually bend the slider into the rocker if not properly braced if it doesn't bend the first time. Our bolt-on design is just as stronger as any weld on slider. Between our customers and us, our sliders have been through hell and back from Moab to South America to Qatar.

We keep these in stock both raw and powder coated. We do also offer a forum discount, you can PM me for pricing. If you need any other pictures, I am glad to provide what I can. This is my personal truck, at first I didn't want sliders but now I love them. Easy to use as a step and its not a shin splitter.

I would love help installing :) I'll buy lunch or dinner! I ordered them powder coated so I won't likely get them for a couple weeks.

Now that I know what to do we can probably knock it out in less than 3 hours. Just going to come down to how long and skinny your fingers are. :D

These just showed up today :) The quality looks excellent! I think I may tackle the install tomorrow morning. I think I can get it done solo or with a little help from my wife, but if anyone is in the Sunnyvale / Cupertino area and wants to lend a hand, then send me a PM.

I got the passenger side slider on today, but that took way longer than anticipated doing it solo. I need another hand for the driver's side install tomorrow. I am going to reach out to some friends, but if anyone here wants to assist, then I'll buy lunch. PM me.

Do you have a floor jack? I installed mine alone but it would have been difficult without the jack.

Damn, my wife is in bed sick and I think I have to take care of her and watch the kids. The gas tank side will probably be more difficult. Actually I have no idea how the install is on the 38 gallon tank, but I’m sure it’ll be a little tricky. If you don’t get it on tomorrow, I can help next weekend.

I don't have a legit floor jack and my driveway is on an angle so I had to use a combination of stacked weight plates and the simple little jack from our Toyota Sienna. All 3 brackets on the passenger side required the jack to push them up the frame as they were too tight without the jack. The driver's side is going to be way harder with the 38 gal gas tank.

I finally got the driver's side on with the help of a friend, a floor jack, scissor jack and tons of time. These things are no joke to install, but the end result looks good!

I put mine on by myself without a jack.
I used 2 square rolling furniture dollies and ratchet strapped them to a piece of 4x8 osb that I had (so the dollies couldn't roll apart).
put the sliders on that, then slid scrap 2x6, 2x4, and osb that I had between the slider and the 4x8 piece, to get to the right height.
having the 4x8 strapped to the dolly allowed me to roll the slider front/back and in/out into the correct spot.
it was quick and easy to do by myself that way.
