It's called a "Color Tour", and I've done it quite a few times
Usually a drive, a good one here is Meanders N along the western shoreline.
But that drive is just as cool any time of year
There is a casino at the southern end where it starts if your into burning some cash...

 

I guess if you have cool trees it makes sense. Call it regional confusion. Fall here means the leaves just up and die, and the grass turns yellow.

 

The part of Texas he lives in doesn't even have trees. Just dust.

Can someone explain to me how to tag forum members in a thread post? I see posts that have the @ symbol followed by the tagged username. I've got some issues that I wanted to flag for input from members who have written about similar technical difficulties.

If you flag a member, does that mean a notification shows up in their inbox?

 

If you put @ immediatley follow it by there username. It will make suggestions when you start typing their name out.

I'm sure that they could have saved money, time and energy by just looking at the leaves in their areas. Our leaves even change colors in GA, hah. Cept for those pesky evergreens.

You get more colors the quicker it turns cold I believe so the idea is to do it on a warm day where it’s colder at the peak of the mountain.

 

Sometimes ya only have to look out the back door.

 

My shit burnt up since ive been in pasadena for the last month.

That's pretty depressing. Even more so if you put a ton of hours into it beforehand.

I just laid out some rye grass for the winter months. We don't get much of a winter down here, though. Snow is fairly rare to stick to the ground if we get anything other than flurries.

 

I’ve been anxiously awaiting peak colors. My dorm room is on the 17th floor of the building- fantastic view of Milwaukee out of my window.

 

Damn that sounds like a big dorm building. Highest one on my campus is 9+ the roof and that has like 900+ beds

 

I'm on the top floor. It's U of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. There's like 1,000 people in that building, like 4,000 total on campus.

Living in the dorm is great sometimes, but living on the 17th floor is wack.

 

Zoo-Mass Amherst in my neck of the woods has 5 residence halls that are 22 stories tall.

 

I think we have 10-12k capacity across our campus, my favorite buildings are the ones from the 1920s-1960s.

I love this school... but the campus sucks balls. There's a handful of beautiful 1880s-1920s buildings, but they're all at like 10% capacity, or in disrepair. Nearly everything else is 1960s brutalist concrete shit. Just so so so so so much concrete.

Last year I was in a dorm that's owned by the university but is a mile and a half off campus. It was awesome- built right next to the Milwaukee river. I could walk downstairs, grab my poles from the truck (parked right out front), and walk down to the river to go fishing. It was fantastic. I'd look out my window early in the morning and see if there were guys fishing out on the river. If there was, I'd get up and go fishing. If not, I'd go back to bed. Never needed to worry about a fishing report. Twas the life.

It was also cool because being off-campus meant it felt like home. Living on-campus this year means I'm always in "work mode".

I’m sure there were only a handful of architects that designed all these concrete structures across the US.

I kinda wish I went to college but I’m glad I went to trade school and actually work in the field I studied, one dude at school was tripping on molly everyday it seemed, that was the most partying I did at school….
I’d visit my buddy at NAU, but it was super granola type parties, so nothing to crazy going on

I like our old buildings because they’re simple to operate and maintain, the new ones that are more “energy efficient” suck to maintain, it’s stupid!

 

Believe it or not, I was dead-set on trade school for a long time. I even did a year and a half of firefighting training, and was planning on going to a trade/technical school to get my certificate. That was in high school. After learning about the health risks of fire fighting, both physical and mental, I was weary. I also was starting to realize that I quite enjoyed school when I could learn about stuff that interests me, like architecture, engineering, physics. I ended up going to college for architecture.

I'm in my second year of architecture school now. I love it but once in a while but the calculus tests make me miss firefighting school.
