There is a lot that NASA has contributed to this planet and humanity that gets totally ignored and not understood. Things going on now for example. I'm not a fan boi of NASA or any of our clients I've mentioned. Certainly won't make fun of astronauts dying at NASA's expense. The O ring failed because an idiot said GO against all warnings, even though the temperature was too cold to launch that day. The Columbia was a tragedy. The insulating foam failure after so many successful missions.
