TRD pro grille Toyota letters/ TSS sensor cover

So I just got a TRD Pro insert from kok auto parts, but I've been looking everywhere for someone that sells the TOYOTA letters in red. I don't want a overlay i would like new letters. I know that I could paint them but the are plastic welded on to the backside.

Kok sells them for the Taco not sure why not for the tundra.

Also on another topic, does anyone have any ideas i can use to cover up the TSS cutout. it comes with a cover but don't like it. Was thinking doing like a light but don't think that would look good. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Have you asked Kok if they will work? None of the comments are from a Tundra but that doesn't mean they won't work.

Personally, I'd just paint the letters you have (assuming you have some). Just requires masking to keep the transition and then you wouldn't have to worry about the plastic welds.

 

I don't think the taco letters are the same size as the tundra. I sent a email to Kok to see what they say regarding the taco letters.

Yeah, my last resort is to try to take the weld off to paint the letters. Masking them won't leave a crisp edge between the black and red

 

How do you like the grille from KOK? I know it's just the insert but how is the quality seem to you? I inquired about KOK on here some time back when I was looking at upgrading my grille but I ended up finding a really good deal on the '14-'17 style grille. I am still considering the newer style though. Can you post a pic of the actual grille you rcv'd?

To add to your other topic, there are a couple of guys on here that have been 3D printing that cover. One more recent that looks really nice. I believe he asked members to trial it. I'll see if I can find that...

This should work for you since you're not dealing with TSS

 

The quality is great I haven't installed it yet so not sure how the fit is. I'm planning on painting the grille surround and bulge with black raptor liner.

I will post some pictures of the insert tomorrow with sun light.

As for the 3d printing I saw that was an option and I'm interested as do also do 3d printing and can print it out.

So just a little update on the TSS cover. @Voda48 sent me his design but I couldn't get it opened on fusion360 so can can do some tweaks. So I have started to design my own trying to mimic the OEM cover but in 3D so it can look as seamless as possible. I'm not an expert at cad but I try my best. Keep you guys posted

 

Let me see what other file types I can export

 

The stl file is good just I couldn’t get it to turn from mesh to solid so I can tweak it up.

 

First, test print don't mind the red. I had that loaded in my printer. Still have to do some modifications but looking good.

 

Ok here is my 2nd print pretty dialed in now just 2 more tweaks and it's good. Let me know if you guys think I should change something up.

Yes sir it's on the printer as I write. Also added TRD to the center rectangle if anyone likes that touch.

 

Haha, that's cool! That's a nice touch. I'd want one without the TRD though and without the backing.

 

Actually if you get a TRD one printed up, let's see what that looks like. It'd be really small so sort of like an easter egg like with what Toyota did with the TX logo behind the dash.

I put two Knurled nuts so you can bolts it down easily.

 

Ok all set it looks pretty good and the bolts had it nice and tight. What do you guys think?
