True. Just needed a beefier frame and better brakes. Add a factory supercharger and boom, 3/4 ton capability. They fare pretty well as is though…

After ripping huge trees out of the ground and literally flipping over a shipping container using the 4lo in the landscape truck, I'll believe the space shuttle ad.

I was always skeptical of 4lo power. But i'm a believer.

Speaking of 4LO, my girlfriend's dad challenged the tundra to a tug of war against his Land Rover LR3. Sad to say it but I'm pretty sure the LR3 would smoke the Tundra in a tug o war, considering the similar power but much higher weight. I don't plan on actually participating in said tug of war, but still. Fun to imagine.

That’s a pretty large gear reduction to pull 30x times the max rating of the 5.7L. Do they show the gearing for the Cardinals stadium? I can’t picture NASA showing it for the Tundra.

They use 78(ish) individual 1hp electric motors and the whole field is on a giant tray that rolls on train wheels. Pretty cool.

Around 1000 pounds heavier and uses a more sophisticated 4wd setup than the tundra. Not a winnable fight on paper. Girlfriend’s dad is just doing a rooster strut, pay him no mind.

get short thick tires & fill up a waterbed in the bed of the truck. Or just wait for the warranty to expire on that LR.

That thing's warranty has been expired for a long long time! Still wish it had one though... I actually helped them buy that car. Totally got ripped off by the previous owner, turns out that the rear suspension is so worn that it's not safe to drive above 35 or 40mph. Which is really disappointing- that car has a lot of life left, but the cost of fixing it exceeds it's value.

I was looking a new inner tie rods and figured I'd go OEM just cause. Yeah, that's not gonna happen.

    Screenshot_20241010_063021_Adblock Browser.jpg

Dude. Why are these $370? Tie rod ends aren't much better at $120. I can get ACDelco for $80 and $68 respectively. For my broke ass I think I'm going the RA route on this one.

From what I've learned, the Detroit axle rack has Moog TREs, so I figure it's safe to assume it has Moog inners as well. I'm guessing that's why the inner has failed.

I bought mine during one of the big sales.
Thinking I'll install em when I'm ready to do Solo LCAs, uniball lowers, and those off-road alignment tabs

The Tundra only pulled Shuttle Endeavor across the Manchester Bridge over the 405 Freeway, not the full distance from the airport to the museum. STILL, it was an amazing feat. Up to, and beyond, that point they were using a motorized dolly system. The GVWR of that system with Endeavor exceeded the max weight for the Manchester bridge. The Tundra was selected for the job because Toyota had been a long-time partner with the California Science Center.
