You're totally right. It's kinda funny when you think of it this way: Boost is essentially a measure of restriction, so less restriction on intake equals more restriction (boost) haha

Seems going from 200 cell cats to 400 may have increased pressure. Looks like I'll have to take a few runs and compare data.

An aside: I did 400 miles today pulling my enclosed trailer. It was one of three days a year that there isn’t much of a wind to speak of. 55-70 mph speed limit and a little more than 3000’ elevation change each way. This thing is a towing ANIMAL. I’m sure you guys all know that, but sometime I just have to say it out loud (or type it out loud…?). Pretty much locked in 5th the whole way home with a few spurts of 6th gear just to see if it would do it. Only regret is not adding boost sooner. Haha.

I am the poster child for "measure of restriction":ballchain:

    stock intake
    stock (TRD) exhaust
    77mm pulley (Harrop)
    11psi (sea level)

It’s weird I have the same setup except a less restrictive intake and I never see more than 8 or 9 psi. My peak boost didn’t really change from the 80mm to 77.5mm pulley. It just came on faster at lower rpm.

When I get into PE, I am generally @ 8psi. scary.

then, if I keep the pedal down, it climbs to 11psi quickly.
    I've only done it once.

here's the rub....all my shit is working (knock on wood).
    no engine codes
    no leaks.
    smooth hwy cruising

this, alone, makes me leery about adding more stuff.

I'll probably hold my position for the foreseeable future, as the truck is perfect for me right now.

and, truth be told, there ain't a whole lot of comparable options out there!

I support what Rey says, I wanted SPD system but had to do a custom because my headers, so my exhaust guy more or less duplicate the design but with 3" and some added touch.

There's no loss of low end, improved mpg by almost 10%, and with my racelogic v box it shows 0-60 improved by 2 tenths, and it sounds very un-truck-ish.

SPD downpipes neck down to 2-3/8" I.D. at the exit flange. Maybe that helps with the low end. I didn't notice any loss either.

That is how mine is too. It starts timing when you start going. You dont need to worry about reaction time.

I spent a little time looking at the numbers on draggy and noticed a few trends. You can clearly see the 1-2 shift unless your 0-60 time is under 3 seconds and all 4 tires are spinning @ViktorG .

Distance to 60 is about 235 feet for trucks that can go 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, 5.5 second trucks need another 30 feet, however, the newer model Tundra that ran a 5.49 0-60 needed another 24 feet to get to that speed. It also had to shift one more time.

@e30cabrio Click on your times to get more details about the run. IMG_0774.png What is the distance needed to get to 60 MPH with a 8 second time? Also, what is your 0-60 (1ft) time? Some folks who launch the vehicle really easy can se over a half a second difference. You need to do a few more runs to get some consistent numbers.

That makes more sense since they weren't measuring boost.

Have you been consistently getting 10% better mileage or was it just the first tank?

    We are special................

The price depends on how much cleaning is needed, I keep my truck relatively clean, I power wash weekly in winter and had krown treated since new, but I was having surface rust showing on the frame and small parts, so that took almost full 5 days to do it, on avg they charge about $600 CAD per day, that gives you an idea.

If it's a super clean vehicle/new, it can be done in one day.

is that AI? it looks so nice yet so fake.

consistent, I hand calculate each tank, last long trip with trailer I had 11mpg, which blew me away as same trip before new exhaust I was only able to get 9.5-10mpg, it's a hilly area.

If it's empty, and I leave the transmission alone it'll get as high as 16mpg.
