When you do the new diff break ins do you break the rules and run it on dry pavement in 4x4, or are you taking it to some dirt?

 

Wash hot, shrink.
Wash cold, no shrink.
Dry hot, some things shrink (wool esp.)
Dey medium, usually safe (except wool)
Dry cold, no shrink, but save the energy, use clothes line.

I wonder if you could do the break in on jack stands? DANGEROUS I know I know. Wonder if it would be enough friction/load in them to get the heat.

I've done it. I even grabbed the wheel while rotating to watch the other spin. If you pull the wheels and drums off and let it spin you can see if your axles are true.

Can someone confirm this for me about my brakes?

I have a 2000 Tundra that the previous owner said he upgraded to 13WL brake calipers. I want to get a some new pads, maybe rotors. Looking at other threads,

If I order these parts for an 03' to 06' Tundra I should be good correct? Also is there a way to confirm the brakes on there really are 13WL?

 

Yup, visual inspection will reveal “13WL” stamped on the caliper itself. I usually use a 2004 AC when shopping for brake pads. Or I just buy the larger of the two available options if shopping for a 2000.

I cant imagine any of the 1st gen crew spending $2600 for brake pads, rotors and fluids.

I thought the 60k service was expensive at $600 and that was back in 02 when I bought my truck. Different times.

 

And he seems stoked! wtf

 

Time is money for some people. If you can earn more for the time it takes to do the work, why bother?
