What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Alot of fake filters on Amazon and ebay, even being in Toyota packaging. Filters are cheap at the dealer.

 

Gotta love Amazon's control over that. I got bit by that years ago when I did knock sensors on my old truck. I bought and returned 3 times before I got a set of legit Aisin knock sensors and a pig tail for them.

 

I’ve bought them multiple times for myself and directed others to the same listings. Started with my 4Runner in 2017. Never once have I received anything but genuine OEM filters.

People just need to actually check who they're buying from. And make sure they’re OEM.

 

Did a headlight restoration, installed some Auxito LED headlight bulbs, and swapped out the old OEM Fog Lights with the Diode Dynamics SS3 LED Fog Light Kit, Amber Sport style. Comes with a wire harness for plug and play. Took all of 1 hour to install and adjust. Haven't done any night time driving yet, but will see how much improvement there is. Kind of skeptical about the LED headlight bulbs and have a pair of SilverStars to install if I don't like them.

 

Generally speaking, LED bulbs require a different lamp/reflector design to work properly and not blind other drivers

 

ARB compressor rebuild. Last trip to elevation was enough for 1/2 of it, still ran but no air from that side. Much as I do not care for all things ARB, the built in redundancy is really nice to have.

 

What size tires are you running?

 

275/60/r20. Nitto Grapplers, E rated. I found them used on Facebook marketplace along with the 20" wheels. I lost a couple MPG, but I also don't drive a lot. I'll probably replace the tires with something that can handle rain and snow better, but I do like the aggressive look of the current ones.

After I installed the auto headlamp dimmer switch, I realized I didn’t have the wiring harness to make it work with the sensor. So I made a custom wiring harness, installed it and everything just worked!

GCS TRANS COOLER

 

Added 1” Bora spacers in preparation for a new suspension setup that will require new UCAs. I had no idea that adding merely a 1” spacer would make my tires rub hard front and back of the wheel well. I guess I was just barely clearing all the way around before the spacers.

Removed my mud flaps. Still have bad rubbing up front. Guess I’ll need the bumper shim.

Or a new high clearance bumper.

 

If you’re taking votes the high clearance bumper gets mine

 

I'd like to buy one of these from you if you have any extras.

 

I vote bumper as well. Or you could do the Viper Cut mod. I think that would provide the clearance you need. @TRDFerguson may have better input into if it will provide clearance though. I'm just guessing.

 

Yeah, mine too. Does anyone have the “other” @STravis front bumper? The one that requires no cutting. Guess I’ll search my watched threads for the 2.5gen bumper thread…

Yup got the OG bumper and still love it. It’s nice not having to cut anything to install it. I also think @STravis new high clearance front is freakin awesome! I wouldn’t hesitate to order either front. Also, add his high clearance rear to your list. The only thing I regret is ordering the rear without the tire carrier. So stupid

 

What's the small light next to your fog? Is it set up like a ditch light just lower?

 

Yes pretty much. @STravis added a second hole in the bumper to allow for a Baja design s1 light. Unfortunately I’m poor and ordered some cheapo lights off Amazon

 

I see you, too, are mudflap-less

 

Can't use the fronts with the 37s haha and the rears had to go with the new high clearance bumper. I am trying to integrate a larger mud flap in the rear for the winter and figure out how to install it on the bumper support reinforcement bracket.

Oh hell no haha. I was thinking more of a classic Toyota mud flap or a rally armor for the subie crowd

 

Oh yeah those are sick! The rock tamers were a total joke, those things make my eyes bleed lol

 

But they protect your boat! That's the ONLY time I use them!
