So I’ve been running the Cooper AT3 XLT in the 285/55R20 (TSS)

I live in a very rural area where my only tire shop is selling Hercules and Toyo. (They used to sell cooper but dropped cooper when Goodyear took Cooper over)

Dealer suggested the Hercules Terra Trac ATX Venture or the Toyo Open Country ATIII.

90% of my driving is turnpike (85mph speed limit) but I live down a gravel road.

I do tow a bass boat and occasionally my tractor or gravel trailer.

    3PMS is a must.

I had the BFG KO2 on the truck but didn’t like them in the rain when they were half worn

I can order from tire rack but the closest tire rack installer is 45 miles away.

Can anyone give me either a “which one” between the Hercules or Toyo or another suggestion that would replace the Cooper?

I’d like to find something similar to the cooper but with Goodyear giving the shaft to the cooper dealers and focusing on selling coopers in Walmart instead I’m going to be switching brands.

    Thank you

I'd drive the 45 miles and get the Coopers.

I recently replaced my Cooper AT3 XLT’s with the new Falken Wildpeak AT4W’s and couldn’t be happier. Why not order from tire rack and have them delivered to your house? Then take them to any installer which is what I did.

The only tire shop near me won’t do it. I’d have to drive 45 miles to the nearest city to do it.

    Thanks for the Falken suggestion.

Your local shop won't mount and balance a tire you take to them? That's disappointing. I guess if they are the only game in town they can do what they want.
FWIW, when I got my cooper's it was a toss up for me between them and the toyo ATIII. On paper it looks like a great tire, I know people that run and like them, I've never had a set myself.
Edit: man I hate this for you. I'd choose the 90 mile round trip burn 20 bucks in gas and get options. Your gonna spend over a grand on new rubber, go get the tire you want.

    Check around with local mechanics.

My guy was more than happy (well, not happy because the rim/tire combo is 90lbs) but he mounted up my tires for cheap.

Just drive a little further and get the tire you want.

That said, I run the Toyo Open Country AT3 on my 4runner and it's a great tire.
