Hard pass. Between the winch on the front and the, what appears to be, bashed up front skid plate....that thing has been worked. Mileage wouldn't scare me if, it were a pavement princess. My .02

My wife's '21 4runner with 30k has that caked on mud on the exhaust (identical)and a dent in the t/case cross member. PO wheeled it and then dumped it. It still runs like a top, no issues at all after another 8k miles. Alignment perfect, no other issues. Test drive and decide. Good luck - that color is the most awesome.

Dang…. That’s high mileages. My 2021/1794 has ~16500 miles on it, of course I baby my 1794. I would get a good mechanic to take a look at it for before buying ~$28k???

That’s a lot of tire work with small gaps in mileage. Something isn’t right here

That's got tons of miles for the year and has been modded quite a bit. The bumper and hood give me concern as those require cutting, and I couldn't trust that they were done right. Plus, those look like larger than stock tires, so it has more miles than the odometer reads. I wouldn't buy it. Not when you can find SR5 trucks with quarter of that mileage in that price range and then add any seat covers you want. Hard pass IMO, but that's just my opinion.

As mentioned in a previous post, it suggests recurrent suspension or alignment problems. May have been resolved after the bushing replacement.

Too much hand wringing from guys who have never been on a dirt road. SC is road hunting country with tons of mud holes. Where is this rust ya'll see? $31k with 120k IMO is a good deal.

I’d cop that color combo in a heartbeat. Spend 30k today. If you had to invest $10k in a motor swap and throw $10k at exhaust and suspension updates to make it your own (your going to anyway), that would be a helluva truck at $50k today.

my numbers could be off but just how I would approach this decision

edit- can you post inside pics? Those seats look worn? Floor mats dirty and cheap or no? The condition of the inside says a lot!

Not sure what "people like me" are, but I do buy new and have for decades after many years of driving used. I keep them a long time and I know exactly what has been done to them. So really "people like you" might get lucky some day and have something "people like me" have cared for and not treated like crap. You're welcome.

Buy it. Only thing I’d update are interior silver parts seem out of place and add step bars of some sort. Unique. No one is driving 40k miles a year on city streets.

Drivers seat looks sat in for 120k and that’s about it on that interior (at least from the photos). Even still the leather looks in good shape. That interior doesn’t look like the truck was mobbed through mud holes, getting stuck, driver out to winch himself out, and climbs back and and turfs up the interior.

If it were me, I’d look for hard to reach places to clean (places only a professional detailer would access- not some lazy bum) and then rely on what your mechanic says. If he gives you a green light, I’d buy it, change fluids, and enjoy it for another 200k. That frame is MINT.

Yeah, this used market honesty feels like a joke. People want almost $40k for trucks with more than 100k miles on them.
God forbid if you want to be picky and find a specific color.

I think there’s less than 10 green Tundra’s for sale nationwide right now and only 1 green 1794. I’m not sure if this is the truck I’m going to go with, but it’s slim pickings out there.

I'm not sure what state you are in, but you really should read this about and used car dealership that lists a vehicle "as is". https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/dealers-guide-used-car-rule

Also, normally there is a yellow sticker there on the outside driver's door frame just below the latch, especially upper trims, that states what all the optional equipment does to the GVWR. I don't see it because the passenger door is in the way. My 2020 has it and it hasn't worn off or anything. Are the other stickers there on the inside of the driver's door frame (for tire pressures, manufacture info, VIN, etc.) and are the ones on the front of the underside of the hood that should be there (lists refrigerant type, etc)? If not, that usually indicates body work of some kind because they don't replace those stickers.

Well, here is a KBB pull on this thing for color/trim/mileage, acknowledging there will be regional variations.

good call looking for the stickers. I’m not sure as it’s several states away from me. The mechanic inspecting Monday is going to take some better photos so I’ll keep an eye out for them.

It's a TRD Offroad tin dust cover. Sturdiness is slightly over of beer can, but not much.

The truck is heavy. I bent my 10GA RCI skid, wasn't even doing something overly crazy.

They are thin no doubt. Personally, I don't want the used truck that has a winch and beat up skid plate (no matter how thin it is). I want the used truck that looks like it spent it's entire life on the highway. But that's just me and my $$$$.

If the winch is nice and the bumper was done nicely, why not? They worth more than $2k. Tin skid plate is beaten up after just one unplowed driveway, who cares about that rusty piece of junk? It would have fallen off of my 2019 due to rust if I had left it in place.

Most of offroad-tuned vehicles are just mall crawlers anyways. You can take off the mods (quality ones, not from Harbor Freight), sell with profit and restore the factory look if this is what you prefer to see, and still have the cash left. At the end, what matters is the price of the deal.

I get your take. I think our difference is your last sentence...." At the end, what matters is the price of the deal ". That is not what matters most to me when I am buying a used vehicle. It's up there, don't get me wrong, but I personally will pay more for a cleaner example of whatever I am buying.

Too many miles in a short time and off roaded and beat IMO. But, damm the color combo is pretty and price seems OK. Offer 25K, if accepted run they know it's a POS!

Too many tire problems is your typical fat MT tire. RoadForce balancing is pretty much required, and it is not unheard off that a tire or two from the set have to be replaced due to internal defects that cause an unsolvable balance problem.

Lots of folks obsessing over the paper mâché skid plate here. Not even a scratch on the LCA's; Winch / bumper could be just for retrieving shopping carts (my AOC).

Wait for your mechanic's inspection OP. Could be steal.
