Whatever this forum told me to do
I am old enough to enjoy sitting at the Costco tables*, eating a slice of pizza, and just watching all the people check out.

It's like a snapshot of humanity.

Costco is a good place to people watch. Airports are still better, but you're not feeding any one person for near those prices.

People are disgusting and/or retarded. I don't want to watch them. Unless she's hot. Then I'll watch.

I thinks that's the appeal of people watching. It's quite amazing how awful some people are and like a train wreck I just can't look away so I watch in disbelief.

Figuratively speaking, it's Friday for me. Though I have mixed feelings about this set of days off. I have to go get my DOT physical and take the paperwork to the DOT so I don't lose my CDL. Hoping weather is nice enough to do that on the bike. Then I have to run up to help my buddy with his elk hunting. Gonna wear my fat ass out.

I knew you were speaking figuratively, I was just messing with you.
Personally I love having days off not on the weekends with all the regular folk. Elk hunting is the easy part. It's the harvest that wears one out.

    this, exactly.

I like to believe I'm one of the 1% that has my shit together.

I watch all these folks as a semi-morbid entertainment.

We go to Costco to mainly stock up on snacks and crap for the office here*.

it appears everyone else is grocery shopping.

    maybe.

I doubt it's much different than any other fast food establishment.

I'd love to be able say that I'm some health food weirdo. but I can't.

I like food. and fast food hits the spot on occasion.

great...now you just jogged my memory of the Enchirito @ taco bell.

    and!

taco bell needs to run like those Fro-yo shops that let you build your own sundae.

I could whoop up some serious food if you let me behind the counter.

I am now, but I was previously using the CDL. It's a great backup plan if something goes wrong in the current job.

Yeah it’s not. It’s just cheaper because they don’t really need to market it at all.

I’m turning into a major food weirdo. I just want to eat real, actual food not built in a factory, and what the industry serves up for us is not it.

Yep. It's all fake crap. And/or doused in fake crap. Refined. Submerged in boiling machine lubricant (seed oils. Not originally meant for human consumption until it was realized just how cheaply they can be produced on a mass scale. Then the "need" was created to fill the mass production supply)

You think that burger bun is just refined and bleached wheat flour, yeast, and water? Nope. There's like 20-30 ingredients. The goal is to make it as cheaply as possible and get it to last over two weeks on the shelf (real bread expires much sooner). That means injecting it with some truly awful stuff...including yoga mat rubber. Lots of people freaked out when Subway added this to their bread; they were successfully petitioned to remove it back in 2014. But we are easily distracted, and we forgot to care that it's still in use in many processed breads and candies.

Quick google search yielded more info here: https://foodbabe.com/when-you-see-whats-in-these-popular-fast-food-buns-youll-run/

    Mmm...yoga mat rubber.

It is pretty funny when you think about it: when it comes to our vehicles, we are super careful of what oil we use and even where we'll fuel up, but when it comes to food–our bodies' fuel–we think our bodies will grow properly and run well on whatever the FDA has approved for us. It's just not true at all.

It turns out, we are not flex fuel models AT ALL.

That's not the bad thing alcohol does to people, though. I've only ever met one person that I liked when they were sober that didn't drop to a minimum of disliked all the way on down to despised when they were drinking.
