Hi all, I've been a Toyota owner for the 25 years including three Highlanders, three Tacomas, a 4 Runner and possibly others which I've forgotten. I'm finally considering taking the step into full-size pickup truck-dom and my wife and I both love the Tundra 1795 and would probably make the plunge in the spring, BUT.......this stuff about the V6 recalls is making me have second thoughts. Sooooo, I'll just hang around a bit and see what transpires with this stuff. Thanks for having me.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! I think you mean the 1794's, and I agree - I love mine! If you have the patience, wait and see how the '24's do. Toyota thinks they have the problem solved in the '24's, but only time will tell for sure.

I did mean the 1794. We tried one out a few years back (the V8) and really liked it but I just couldn't do 15 mpg. These V6's are just enough better that I can live with it. We won't be doing anything before spring at the earliest (when our present car comes off warranty), so perhaps it'll give Toyota time to figure out how they're dealing with this--or perhaps I'll discover it's just an internet cranked-up scare.

It's not an internet cranked-up scare. Toyota wouldn't be recalling every non-hybrid Tundra made for the '22 and '23 model years for a rumor. My only question is, did they find and fix ALL of the issues? That said, there are a LOT of '22 and '23 owners who have never had any issues with the engine, so that must be considered as well. Again, only time will tell.

Agree. Also, I bought a USED Tacoma some years back and after driving it for over two years Toyota bought it back under the "rusty frame warranty"--for $2000 more than I paid for it, an astounding response. As such, they've earned my trust. I'm looking to them to do the right thing with these problematic V6's.
