Aiming for the 17th as well. Probably coordinate getting there with Jon & Casey if this works out.

Ordered a privacy tent. Hopefully Amazon doesnt fuck that up like they did my brake pedal button pads.

I've always just grabbed onto the tailgate and squatted in the woods when hunting.
But I bought a shit bucket with a toilet seat/lid for T2S. I never used it.

I don't remember where you suggested meeting us. Ballinger, Eden, or Menard maybe?
Will be harder to time connecting with you, since the three of us will be coming through the hill country. Looks like about a 7hr drive from my cabin. Yours is about 6 hours and no real logical place to meet with us before Amarillo.

We'll have to figure out how to use our radios first!
    Then we'll need handles.
    I call Beef Supreme.

I'm good with driving at night .
I just gotta get the truck back from the shop, make sure I break in the new gears, and change the diff fluids, air filter, and check the other fluids first.

Yeah I had to break in the first set of 4.56 gears in a time crunch before Jambo. I don't know why this always happens. I'm always in a major time crunch to get the truck ready before an off-road adventure. I followed the break in procedure for Nitro gears, but this time I'll be extra extra careful. The shop that has the truck now blamed the first shop that installed the original set. That shop blamed the manufacturer... It's too late for a warranty.

Plan all day to get to your cabin. Stop for half an hour every 50 miles, inspect, etc. Bring diff juice in case it leaks.

maybe when you get into the hills draft 18wheelers down the hills engine braking with overdrive off.

Nah, I plan to do what I did before. Which is sacrifice sleep on work days as needed, to get the job done in time. I ain't leaving my area until the break in is done. My commute is only 88 miles a week. When I get the truck back from the shop Wednesday, it'll be 19 miles home. So yeah 500 miles in a week will have to happen.

But that would be 600.1, because math speak.

If you're free this weekend, I need to change my oil. There's a few other things we could do like rotate tires and swap carrier bearing too. But I'm not that worried about the 03. I'm more concerned about the 06 and this trip.

It fits the short & tall buckets. The fat & oil from cleaning dishes & cookers could 'glue' 2 grocery bags together to hold 6 glass bottles, a plastic bottle, and a can. The bags that come with it fit the short bucket. Theres a good chance that it'll fit into one of those small cheap folding chairs that ripped put the ass from uv exposure.

Id say Menard or Eden. Menard comes first obviously so either or. Were there plans to stop after that before Merus?

It was good. We were only there about 4 hours, but it was enough to let me know that blue trails are good enough. I don't think I'd go on any blacks unless I had a spotter and better trail mates. I only got hung up once and was able to back out and power through. Only caught the skid once. All those jeeps are stock and kept bottoming out. I aired down, they didn't.

They said the trail recon something or other was there, so there were about 80 rigs in the park. We rarely came across anyone else. It was hot, 92 on the surface, about 100 in the canyon. It should be in the 80s when we're down there.

I didn't get to check out the camp sites. Gaia apparently costs money. Fuck that. I asked the dude when he'd go with 7 trucks and he said the meadows or boots off. We can do a guided blue tour one day, but that's up to yall. I think we'll be OK with just a map.

Also, that drop in was cool. 4lo, 1st gear, and hard on the brakes. I'd like to bleed mine again before we go back. Maybe adjust the rears.

You get you a BPV bracket yet?
For some reason, several people on this site forget about the BPV bracket and bumps stops when they lift.
IMHO there's no excuse not to, because you can make one from a generic hardware store bracket for pennies on the dollar. Also you can use thick washers for spacers on your front OEM bump stops.

I have the paid subscription to onx but recently cancelled my Gaia.

You’ll have to import this, but it should work in Gaia and OnX.
