Definitely wouldn’t want a 12.50 wide 35” tire under there. About an inch of room with my 285/75-18, and she juuusssssttt barely blows on the shoulder of the tread with the driver side dump.

Sound is still new to me with only a couple minutes of run time. Smells weird as it’s burning the crap out, but that sound…. Mmmm hmmm. Daddy likey…

I have the same smell too (I have the downpipes also). It was pretty darn noticeable on day 1 but each day it's been getting alittle bit better.

image.jpg I live in western Oregon, so no salted roads. We do get rain about 14 months per year, but nothing corrosive to speak of.

Stock exhaust was out in a matter of minutes, and this was in almost as quick. Reused my OEM flange bolts. They were in good shape and the new ones from SPD don’t appear to be the same thread. No sense in cutting the welded nuts off…

Went together like butter. Had a buddy wiggle the front pipes while I shoved the muffler forward. Clamped it home.

If my spare starts showing signs of heat damage, I’ll clip an inch off the tubing in front of the muffler to move it forward a hair for more tire clearance.

@reywcms would be happy to recommend some gold heat resistant foil to cover your spare with.

I like the gearing for towing and the general added pep. Honestly wish I had gone deeper than 5.29’s but that’s a different thread.

still crazy for 34s. 35 or lower id run 4.88s. 37s is where 5.29s should start

Blown motor, sure. N/A? Heelllll nahhhhh.

N/A 5.29 with 34-35” tires is money. It’s literally 275 rpm higher at 65 than an all stock truck.
    But, that’s another topic.

Just drove 30 minutes home with the new pipes. Intentionally left it in 6th gear with cruise for a couple little rolling hills that my TCC will unlock on every time. She held locked up. That’s about 1,900 rpm at that speed. I dare say I did not lose any low end torque. I’ll run it some more, but I believe there is a gain.

I’ve had zero issues with using 6th gear at any speed. Runs just the same between factory exhaust and this one. Same mileage, same shifting, same towing, everything.

    Exhaust is on
overthought things a bit and stressed myself lmao
Said screw it and got it to a shop this morning, they fixed the lengths and angles of my mid pipes and bolted on the exhaust for me.
Man you guys weren’t kidding when y'all said this system sounds good. I was a little worried it was going to be to much with my headers but honestly it’s a lot more tame then I expected which I really like.

@Ryuu thanks for that back downpipe pic. I had mine blowing out towards the spare. At certain rpms it would reverberate under the bed. That's what I get for my poor man's copy of an exhaust...:D

Anyone have any idea where to purchase replacement gaskets? I have a gasket leak between one of the manifolds and downpipes (I'm running the full SPD system). I likely nicked it during installation. I took it out to find a similar one - it has an I.D. of roughly 2.5". NAPA didn't have any with a wide enough I.D. that wasn't too thick (0.5") or too thin (~0.0625"). All the other gaskets with the correct I.D. and thickness are the laminated, oval, two-bolt style.

I've called and sent messages to SPD, over the past couple of weeks, but no reply.

You could always buy some gasket material and cut your own. I’ve thought about doing it myself.

Any idea if there will be an option for the 07-09s in the future?

I want to start out with just the catback to see what it's all about and I'm trying to avoid the local muffler shops.

Had a buddy of mine go to a couple different exhaust shops in my area for his truck and the welds were all astonishingly horrible... Every time he showed me when it was "fixed" I'd find a new leak lol

Not sure if they’ll be making that an option. I’ll find out when I chat with them again. I know the gen 3 tundra is on the list and older Sequia so I don’t see why it wouldn’t be.

yea not the best choice of words on my part lol. only reason I say it's tame is because I'm comparing it to what I had installed back in jan 2022. was also a 3 inch dual exhaust, x-piped and dumped but it had a pair of carven-r mufflers. that system made the truck legit scream like a banshee, was loud and obnoxious.
    upload_2024-10-2_19-39-37.png
those dang carven-r mufflers are legit just for looks, they don't muffle crap. I had it modified a bit last year, with another set of mufflers and some helmholtz resonators but after that wasn't happy with it anymore, just gave me a headache.
    upload_2024-10-2_19-42-23.png
ditched that around april this year for a $100 ebay dual 2.5 in to single 3" out exhaust, but that was only temporary while I looked at options. no pics of that since it looked dumb lol.
Finally landed on the SPD and I think my exhaust journey has finally ended, now on to other mods.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. Which muffler shop did you use?
