19 TRD Pro Remote Start question

Just picked up a 19 Pro a couple weeks ago, and my vehicle feature printout states that I have remote start. My key fob does not have a button labeled remote start. Can anyone enlighten a new Tundra owner.

Sadly, I tried it with both remotes, and nothing happened. Hmm.

 

I has teh 19 PRO and it doesn't has teh remote start. I thought none of the 19 PRO's had it.

 

Per the VIN printout, it states remote start. if I do have it, it is not working> Well crap!

 

I wouldn’t worry. Oem remote start is worthless as it won’t allow you to actually get into the truck without having to restart it. Soon as you open the door, it shuts the truck off.

Not sure about the '19s, but my '21 Pro has it (as described w/the weird ass procedure).... I don't use it because of the reasons already stated.

I believe it was intended to be used w/the Toyota app from your phone (which requires a monthly subscription), but should be a smoother process.

You may want to give the app a shot to see if that works instead of your fob...

 

My app doesn't seem to have that feature.

With the key, you might actually be able to install an aftermarket remote start. Might be better off that us with the fob. (I wish I had a physical key)

 

That is odd, as when I checked vin, it states that my vehicle has the remote start feature. Oh well.

If you follow the procedure in the above video, and it still doesn't work I'd check for blown fuses or relays (not sure if there are any that are dedicated to just that feature or not).... and if that doesn't resolve, then swing by a dealer and have the service mgr or a seasoned advisor walk out to your truck w/you and advise their recommendations for next steps...

Don't know if this will help but these are the instructions that came with my 2016 Sequoia keys.

 

I had no remote start I had to purchase it and I installed it myself

 

Had my '21 Limited for 3 years and never knew about the key fob remote start... Reason #382 that I love this forum.

 

You’ll learn to hate it in no time.

 

I think 20 was when it came standard.

 

I can confirm that my 19 PRO with non-cooled transmission flipped me off and showed me it's hairy ass when I tried the three button press trick on the fob.
